I want to point out that the Taylor Light and Life
and Wyandotte Mount Carmel co - op is on the agenda at
one of the MHSAA meetings tomorrow. So the schools put
the cart before the horse. While it is usually a mere
formality to pass, schools should wait until the MHSAA
officially approves the program.
I'll edit this since I was the last to post in here. It looks like that the MHSAA was really really busy approving football co - op programs yesterday. They approved 5 in total. Otsego + Otsego Baptist 749 students Mesick + Buckley 418 students Tekonsha + Coldwater Pansophia Academy 201 students Taylor Light and Life + Wyandotte Mount Carmel 172 Waterford Mount Zion + Novi Franklin Road Christian 149 |

Say NCAA can you create a master list of co ops.
That way we can compare and make sure we get everything
in order. just a suggestion

I now have 32 co - op programs. After attempting a
copy and paste job from my spreadsheet, it turned out
crappy. Also on the spreadsheet is the schools that don't
offer football currently plus the all girl schools. This
reduced the number of MHSAA schools without football down
to 103.
The Coldwater Pansophia Academy is a charter school seeking to be a MHSAA member. Searn, this changed a breakpoint so I'll have to email you my new average breakpoint breakdowns. I didn't realize that the MHSAA would approve so many football co - op programs at this late date. I noticed that the MHSAA approved breaking the 3 man rule for a couple of swimming programs. Why have the rule if schools are going to seek waivers on the rule? I am going to ask Coach Fife to seek a waiver in boys basketball and football since I got the goods on the swimming programs that got the waivers. I emailed Searn both the football co - op program guide spreadsheet plus the new average division breakpoints based on these new co - op programs. Searn updated the average division breakpoints: geocities.com/searnfootball/breakpoints2006 Whittemore Prescott becomes the last team in division 6 now. Still waiting on the co - op program file to be uploaded. |

I never did receive an email from aowwt so I guess
that you are not interested in my co - op list.
I wonder how many of these schools got conned by thinking that Wyoming Tri Unity was Class D instead of Class B? 2006 Schedule Date Home Opponent W/L 8/25/2006 A Hopkins 8/31/2006 H Colon 9/8/2006 A White Cloud 9/15/2006 A Muskegon Catholic Central 9/22/2006 H Saginaw Nouvel 9/29/2006 H Gaylord St Mary 10/6/2006 A St Joseph Lake Michigan Catholic 10/13/2006 A Holton 10/20/2006 A Fulton-Middleton It looks like they are trying to get a schedule in the first year so they can try to qualify for the playoffs with the 6 automatic wins for it should be difficult to do it with only 5 wins based on this schedule. |

Well I am not completely concerned right now ncaa.
The MHSAA having posted the school list already will make
it easier to check. In anycase once I get the stadium
site updated completely I have another project to look
at. As for Tri Unitys schedule I think some of these
smaller schools are also looking at them like easy
pickings. I mean why not go after a small Class B and get
the extra 16 points to your base. Its not a bad idea to
help with getting home field advatage. I still like to
know where Tri Unity is playing thier home games at. I
know thier place over at thier HS is a soccer only field
from the looks of it. So if you happen to find out let me
know.

Re: 2006-07 student enrollment numbers are out | #67

Well my question about where they playing at is
answered. Forest Hills Eastern is hosting thier games.
They get 3 games over there, Colon, Saginaw Nouvel,
& Gaylord St. Mary's. They have a back up
location for thier JVs at least over at Caledonia HS. Not
sure if they plan on having a game over their next year
but thats what they are doing.
BTW you said something about the school lists not having the classes match up with the population you are correct. The issue is that they havent added in the co ops and what not. Wyoming Tri Unity is listed as a Class B but with a population of a Class D. hehe. Actually they havent even updated the school populations. These are the populations from last year. The schedules are for this upcoming season though. So I guess its useful for something. 3 schools dont even have a population listed which I find funny, yet they still have a class ranking hehe. ![]() Lessons

Mr. NCAA or anyone else who knows.
I looked through the four pages on this topic, I'm sorry if it has already been said somewhere if I missed the post. Has the list for schools who are opting up been released for the 2006-2007 school year? For me this is not football related, I'm curious about hockey and whether DCC will be in D1 this coming winter. I know by enrollment they fell to D2. Is there a cutoff date for when a school is allowed to decide? |

It looks like the complete list for all sports has
been updated:
www.mhsaa.com/resources/status.pdf Lansing Sexton and OLSM opted up in football. It looks like Novi Detroit Catholic Central opted up to play in division 1 ice hockey. The cutoff date is April 15th to opt up in a sport. |

Quote: First glance at the schedule it may look like Tri-Unity is lining up patsies for a quick play-off run. But... The Western Waterways just broke up so Holton (who needs 1 victory to qualify each of last two years) & White Cloud were in need of 4 new opp. And Saginaw Nouvel is still looking for opponents. Fulton-Middleton had open date last year. Mostly it looks like the list of teams that have a tough time getting games. Only missing Country Day & AA Huron. Also note that the parochial school is playing 4 other parochials. I'm also not sure that Tri-Unity (as is Northpoint Chr one of the co-op) & Musk Catholic are in the same basketball conference. This may be setting up of River Valley Football league, I don't remember the other River Valley schools. |

Re: 2006-07 student enrollment numbers are out | #72

My point was that Wyoming Tri Unity co - op program
is only playing 1 Class B team. It could have been 3
Class D teams if 2 hadn't changed classifications. So
they are mostly playing a Class C schedule being a Class
B team.
The only one with a tough time getting games is Saginaw Nouvel on the list. |

So Searn, are you NCAA's bee-ah? Tell lazybones to
post himself....
This question may seem basic, but as far as say a school such as DCC is concerned, they come in at 65th in the state in terms of enrollment. If only 31 of the 64 schools ahead of them qualify for the HS playoffs they would still go D1. Correct? The playoff brackets fill 1 thru 32 in terms of student body numbers? thanks Oh. And tell MrNCAA for me *sarcastic sneer* thanks for the update. |

DCC would get in but historically it wont happen.
Very seldom will enough Div 1 programs lose to allow DCC
to get in. Plus DCC needs to win some games, i know it
sounds wierd and such but if they dont win whats the
point in talking about it.

2 month hush over this subject... but I honestly
see no way that at worst CC is 6-3 so I think they'll
most certainly make playoffs. More hopefully they go 7-2
(lose to Rice & OLSM) or even 8-1 (we can dream
for an upset v. OLSM or Rice).
Blah the boring, constant deleting of posts on mlive and just the boredom of just talking about football instead of seeing it being played out is getting to me. Screw talking, can't wait to see some teams actually perform. |

Quote: Do not forget if CC were to upset OLSM or Brother Rice ...they would then be in the Prep Bowl Top game... meaning they would have to play OLSM or Rice again (most likely the one they already lost to)... and beat them to be 8-1. "9-3 IS NOT GOOD

The one thing I notice with this is Jackson Lumen
and Crockett would be in different divisions. Havent they
met in the playoff's the last couple years?

How did Searn get the past enrollment numbers for CC re: "The KVC Shrinking" discussion? I could not find that on the MHSAA website.
