Way back in August - You remember August? - the pre-season mindset was clear: The Central was a stronger conference than the North. In fact, the North was considered kind of "weak." Now that we are officially in Fall, things have changed a wee bit, eh? The biggest differences are that Stevenson and Novi are not playing as well as they have the last few years. Northville is still a pretty good team and Salem is still a pretty bad team.

In the Central, WLC is much better than the last couple of years. WLN has improved - we'll know how much in the next two weeks. Lakeland is down from last year but will probably finish around .500. WLW is really down and looking like it's circling the drain.

This season has started out with a number of interesting surprises. Currently, after Week 4, I'd say that the two conferences are about even. However, it looks like the North will be rated higher than the Central by season's end.
