What a thrilling first high school football game experience for the grandson tonight. CHS lead 10 - zip at the half. Troy received the second half kickoff
and a RB had a nice run up the middle and then broke to the right (oops grandson had to hit the john but did see the TD run or I would say how far the run
was). Troy then scored two TDs to take a 21 - 10 lead. Very early in the 4th quarter the Colt fans do an overrated cheer to motivate our players. Clarkston
then proceeded to march down the field and scored on a Bender TD run. CHS was successful on a two point conversion pass to make the score Colts 21 - 18. CHS
then INT'd the Troy QB at the Troy 44.The Wolves then marched down the field in 9 plays added by a pass interference call against Troy to make the score
Wolves 25 - Colts 21. The Wolves pooched kick it once again and the Colts were 4 and out starting on the 37. The Wolves punted the ball into the endzone
from the 37. The Wolves then went into prevent defence only the Colts proceeded to march down the field. Luckily the Wolves picked off a pass in the endzone
with around 18 seconds remaining in the game. So it was a very exciting game for the grandson to watch.

I find it strange that someone on mdead claimed that Clarkston was lucky to win. Didn't the Wolves "gift wrapped" the Colts second TD by fumbling a punt on the 9 yard line? Plus I saw a block in the back on a kickoff return that wasn't called on the Colts. Plus the Colts had 2 possesssions after the Wolves took the lead. |

When I first started doing this the Clarkston/Troy matchups were always featured as one of the top games of the week .... It's good for Oakland County HS
football when this is a big game.

Teams may be 1 2 in the divisions this year. Lake Orion gave up a ton of yards to Oak Park last week and their secondary is very suspect, can Troy throw the
ball? or were they doing more option,
CHS is looking a lot better on D then last year's debacle.. two more big games this week to watch in the oaa red Clarkston @ WB Lathrup @ LO |

Yes, the Clarkston defense is much better this year. 13 or 14 of the points given up have directly occured as a result of a fumbled punt and Troy Athens had their first string offense in against our second or third string DB. I lost track since players were going in and out so much . I did mention that Troy had a big run - just not sure how long because of the grandson. Both games made my prediction list this week. Somehow I overlooked the FHH vs. Southfield game last week for the predictions. We are running on first and second downs regardless of how far it is on second down a ton of the time even with 7 or 8 men in the box so we aren't running the real spread rules here in Clarkston. |
