Week One:
SOUTHFIELD-LATHRUP @ ROYAL OAK: Royal Oak should
be better this year after getting a good QB transfer from Bishop Foley. Still, there's not much else going for the
Ravens. Meanwhile, Southfield-Lathrup has a top WR in Montrel Robinson, a great o-line, and lots of returning
starters. CHARGERS 34 RAVENS 14
WEST BLOOMFIELD @ BIRMINGHAM GROVES: This should
be a shootout. Birmingham Groves has a great QB in Chad Davis, but a suspect defense.
West Bloomfield has lots of talent on offense, but a vulnerable secondary that could be burned by Davis. LAKERS

CLARKSTON @ ROCHESTER ADAMS: Another potential
shootout. Clarkston has lots of returning talent at offense, but defense was a problem last year and could be this year
despite a majority of starters returning. However, Adams has lost a lot of talent from last year and may have some
trouble putting everything into gear in the first game. WOLVES 38 HIGHLANDERS 31
HUDSONVILLE vs. LAKE ORION: Hudsonville always
puts a good team out there, but the Eagles lost a lot of starters last year. Lake Orion should get the seasons started
on the right note. DRAGONS 24 EAGLES 14
OAK PARK @ ROMULUS: I don't know a lot about
Romulus but I do know that Oak Park couldn't get it done last year even with Edwin Baker. Now that Baker is gone,
it may be an even longer season for the Knights. EAGLES 28 KNIGHTS 7
TROY @ ROCHESTER: Rochester has a decent amount
of talent returning but will have to prove that they can win after missing the playoffs many years in a row. Troy
returns a decent amount of talent as well but the difference is that the Colts have fielded a winning team the last few years.
COLTS 35 FALCONS 6
TROY ATHENS @ ROCHESTER HILLS STONEY CREEK: Stoney Creek has a stable program, while Athens is on their 2nd coach in as many seasons. The Cougars have high expectations for 2009, and will start the season off on a good note. COUGARS 26 RED HAWKS 21
