Since it seems to infer that 'homosexual' is a nicer version of a negative term .. So I'll move on from that one ... But I'd say it was a disappointment BECAUSE the team underachieved .... I put a lot into playoffs as I stated above ... Aside from something crazy happening with injuries or an early round battle with another elite program .... A top team that bowed out early to a team that very few believed had a shot is a team that underachieved in my opinion. ... Which is why the 05 OLSM team is not in that category (injuries and tough opponent) Vote for 2009 MHSAA Football Conference Winners New Conference Polls to be added daily this summer. UM just played outstanding. so i don't know where you're going with that. and i don't think anyone is understanding my point, so i'm done trying to explain. obama sucks.

All-Searn 1st Team Posts: 2088 07/08/09 10:34 PM Forum Donor	Disappointment. Underachieve. Choke. Tomato. Tomahto. That team was a heavy favorite and lost. As memory serves, olsm's vanquisher lost the next week themselves. The reasons the playoffs are so significant in measuring a team are several. HS FB is a short regular season and most teams have cupcakes on their schedule (unless you are 2008 Davison) so the reg season W/L record is not an adequate measuring stick. Also if you are playing in the rugged CHSL Central and make the tourney you should be prepared to make a fairly deep run most seasons. And in the case of the particular team in question, it was and All Star Team (language courtesy of T Baechler (sp)) of transplants, transers, whatever, and fell far short.

Go read Bo's last book "Bo's Lasting Lessons" - it will give you the answer. Also, the Capital One Bowl game is a horrible example seeing that Michigan was actually healthy in that game, as opposed to most of the season - App State excluded. See, a game where the favorite did not play to their potential and got upset. And your explanations are mediocre at best because you are a homer and you are defending O-Lake, therefore not able to put forth a rational explanation.

I know that I would've liked more out of that 2006 team, but since I don't just look at the surface LIKE MOST OF YOU, I knew that team wasn't built for a playoff run. However, I thought they were a good team that hung with or beat some good teams. However, they lacked that championship intangible. I knew that from the beginning of the year, but no one cared to listen to me. Kind of how like none of you listen to me when I'm right. You just twist it around to make your argument seem plausible, which it usually isn't. Maybe you want to listen to me now? I don't know much about this year's OLSM team, but I can tell you that if recent trends hold true, with the senior QB, I expect a share of the chsl title, and at least 3 wins in the D3 playoffs. As for the Michigan Wolverines, someone I know much more about, i expect at least 7 wins with trip to the Alamo Bowl. BG, go ahead and print this out and wipe your butt with it since you don;t have any integrity anyway, but check back at this in late november. Another prediction: the team OLSM shares the chsl title will NOT be CC. p.s. BG, you look cute from afar ;-)

I'm sure Boeing has read it and if you have not already DC you should pick it up, you would enjoy it. Alot of interesting history topics in the book to go along with the great stories of the rivalry during the "10 year war."

Sometimes a person who follows a team closely can see faults/strengths better than someone who just observes them a few times from the outside ... but other times that closeness to a team alters one's perception in a way that their view is skewed... I equate it to Notre Dame (2007) and U of M(2008) .... no one that really objectively and closely looked at those rosters and what was going on with the teams was very surprised that each had terrible seasons (might have been a little upset about the overall win total) .... while some random college football fan would be shocked that big name programs like that could be so bad.... and assume that Michigan should win 10 games every year no matter what since they recruit so well..... Back to MHSAA football .... From an outside standpoint in viewing teams multiple times as well as some opponents .... There have been a least one year since I've been following MHSAA football that each CHSL Central (the 5) team TO ME has underachieved based on the players they put on the field compared to what they achieved. Each team has also had some years where I felt they overachieved. The reason the underachieved word comes out so much with OLSM is I believe it happens with them more than most. Off the top of my head I can easily think of multiple OLSM teams where I was "disappointed' In what they were able to achieve ... for the other teams in the league I really have to look back at things to recall the year(s) Vote for 2009 MHSAA Football Conference Winners New Conference Polls to be added daily this summer. Did I say I won any argument? Uhhh, no. You have not put forth any sort of compelling argument regarding the whole issue of underachieving, especially in regards to OLSM. Again, your own inherent biases make you see everything through rose-colored glasses, so you are not subjective. Also, maybe if you weren't so abrasive, people would actually look at your posts differently and agree with some of your thoughts, but no, you proceed to act like a jerk. Bravo. And you were incorrect regarding the author of Bo's last book.

The kid dumps on me after I was basically the only one in his corner when a good portion of the Mlive posters were jumping his ish for flashing signs (ALLEDGEDLY) at the BBR game... One of the reasons that the kid's alma mater's athletic shortcomings are so glaring is because of the emphasis the school puts on sports - way above academics.

If you want to bring up specific examples be my guest. In regards to baseless allegations against your alma mater, it seems that many posters have speculated about what MAY be going on up at the lake. I will go on record to say there may not be anything illegal going on at the lake so i will not pass that judgement. Not saying this is happening at the lake, but if Mary's wants to dumb down their standards for athletes, charge them next to nothing or nothing at all (assuming for athletic purposes), give away room and board than be my guest. It may seem unethical but its a private school and they can do as they should please. I use to be friends with several outstanding ball players at Mary's and they emphatically denied any wrong doing back in my day, and i believe them.
