In case you can't figure it out, I went to the Michigan historical library in downtown Lansing again. My back is killing me from all the leaning over.
I research some Lenawee County scores that John is missing on his website plus tried to find the MCC 1961 arrticle (no luck in Free or Telegram so I guess that
I will try the News next - only went 2 weeks past the game date for both though). The Telegram was kind enough to publish all the scores since 1902 in the
newspaper back then so I printed up a copy. It includes years where they know that no game was played as well. It says for 1950 that it was the 45th game.
So I do believe that there are more scores since the article states "There are indications that the 2 schools met as far back as 1896, but the results
have been recorded only since 1902." Perhaps very far into the future I can check the 1896 - 1901 newspapers back then for scores. Monroe was leading
the series 21 - 18 - 5 going into the 1950 rivalry game.
Hopefully John can add my Lenawee County results very quickly after I email him since I have the Morenci winning streak covered. I had wanted to do up 1954
but alas only got up to 1952 done.
It was tough to read the newspaper on microfilm so that is why I leaned over so much . Perhaps I should buy a good magnifying glass since I'll be going
back several more times.
