Got my own unscientific formula here.... When determining top prospects I put most of the weight on what college coaches think (offers) .... I put this over
what anyone at rivals, scout, etc. think about a player...
A 2star player has offers from Michigan, Uconn and Stanford, .... a 3star player has offers from EMU and BGSU .... I put more stock in those coaches at places like Michigan to evaluate and make the offers to players who are deserving. ... and I'll be expecting the 2star player to be a better prospect ...Obviously the coaches do make mistakes and overrate and underrate players (as do the recruiting services) ... but I'll take my chances on the guys who are staking their careers on recruiting the best players they can (the coaches)
These rankings are based on the athlete's top 5 offers and rivals/scout star rating. (almost all the emphasis on offers) .... where my own subjectivity comes in is the value of the offers ... (Example: a USC offer would be an "elite" offer with 5 pts ... while Michigan State would be a 3 pointer. If a player is committed to certain school, that school is automatically used in the calculations. 26 is the highest possible score ... which would be 5 "elite" offers and be rated a 5 star prospect by both rivals and scout. Ties are simply listed A-Z right now.
First list and attempt at this system .... might think of some tweaks to avoid so many ties.
