Senior Posts: 310 08/12/09 6:31 PM	master list updated 08-12-09: Also, Per Kinde-North Huron school website, which was just recently updated, their 2009 football schedule shows they are no longer scheduled to play Melvindale A.B.T. in week 6. These leaves both teams with an open date for week 6. Also, the football schedule lists that North Huron is playing Kingston in week 3, AND also in week 7. The week 3 game fills an open date for both schools.

Senior Posts: 313 08/16/09 5:43 PM	updates to master list. Included now are the schools with open dates since both Posen and Wyoming Tri-unity Christian have cancelled their 2009 seasons. There are some games that can be paired up, but it's my guess that most schools will weasel out of trying to get that 9th game, and will take the easy way out and receive a forfeit win.

All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 6854 08/17/09 10:07 PM MHSAA Football Stats	Kinde North Huron cancelled the game against Melvindale ABT. This means that I favor Mio playing Ishpeming Westwood at St. Iggy. In week 2, why can't Rogers City play Kent City? That seems very reasonable to me. There are more examples where teams don't have to take the forfeit as well such as Atlanta vs. Baraga in week 9.

Senior Posts: 314 08/18/09 9:48 PM	Per www.highschoolsports.net, Kent City will be hosting Webberville in week 2. Kent City had an opening after Wyoming Tri-unity Christian cancelled it's 2009 season. BUT, Webberville had a game at Redford Covenant scheduled for week 2 already. What happened to that game?...was there no contract signed?...OR, will R.C. be playing only a JV schedule this year. Per hss.net, Web and RC still have a JV game scheduled for week 2. Per hhs.net, Dryden will play at Hale in week 7, Oct. 9th. Hale had an open date due to Posen cancelling it's season. Also, Both Baldwin (week 1) and Big Rapids Crossroads Academy (week 4) have filled their open dates they had, after Tri-unity left them high and dry. But, both schools will be hosting a home school: West Michigan Christian Athletic Association. Link: http://www.wmcaa.org/ Just how will the MHSAA consider this home school for classification purposes for playoff points?...Or, will the MHSAA deem these games to be scrimmages and not varsity games? Other states have accepted it's members to play home school football teams in the past and have considered those games to be varsity games. We'll have to wait and see on this. Senior Posts: 318 08/22/09 12:57 AM	Per hhs.net, Wyoming Lee has filled it's week 7 open date by adding Edwardsburg. This game is confirmed for both teams' schedules on hhs.net. Earlier, hhs.net had Edwardsburg hosting Chicago University of Chicago Charter School/Woodlawn (UCCS/Woodlawn). Also, on hhs.net for Grand Rapds NorthPointe Christian, it shows the Mustangs hosting North Adams-Jerome in week 5 on Sat. Sept. 26. Senior Posts: 324 08/26/09 6:37 PM	Per the Illinois HSA site today, Chicago Harper is no longer scheduled to play Detroit Osborn in week 1 (at Wayne State U) They have Harper playing another Chicago school. Osborn is now listed on the master list with an open date.

Senior Posts: 325 09/01/09 2:53 PM	updates: with the problems created by Wyoming Tri-unity Christian cancelling it's season and Burr Oak holding it's opponents hostage this season, there are some schedule changes for teams: Week 4: Bellevue (was scheduled to play at Burr Oak) will now play at Big Rapids Crossroads Academy (was scheduled to host Tri-unity Christian) Week 6: St. Joseph Michigan Lutheran (which had an open date) will now play at Battle Creek St. Philip (was scheduled to play at Burr Oak). This gives Michigan Lutheran 7 varsity games for 2009, making it elligible for the playoffs, should they qualify. They still do have JV game scrimmages for week 5 and 9. Week 5: reposting this from earlier, North Adams-Jerome (scheduled to play Burr Oak) will now play at Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian (scheduled to play Tri-unity Christian). Per MHSAA schedules, week 6: Mio AuSable (was scheduled to play Posen) will play at Kinde-North Huron (open date) Also, on John's site, michigan-football.com, he has Rapid River (open date) scheduled to play AuGres-Sims (was scheduled to play Posen) in week 4. Senior Posts: 329 09/05/09 4:44 PM	some updates to add from MHSAA games wanted link: Looks like the Muskegon Catholic Central/Melvindale ABT game is off again, perhaps for good. MHSAA lists that as of 08-28-09, M.C.C. is in need of a game for week 8. Also, highschoolsports.net concurs with the open date for MCC. Also, Melvindale ABT is listed as playing Chicago International Charter School in week 3, NOT Orchard Lake St. Mary. MHSAA master schedules no longer have St. Mary hosing ABT on Sept. 12th. MHSAA schedules also list Detroit Central playing Melvindale ABT in week 2. This would fill an open date for both schools. With St. Mary having an open date for week 3, this would be a great time to arrange to play Inkster in week 3 before it's too late for both schools. Senior Posts: 331 09/08/09 10:17 PM	Per the Ironwood Daily Globe, Ewen-Trout Creek (0-2) has filled it's week 3 open date by agreeing to play (and host) Winter (WI) (0-2) on Friday Sept. 11th: Per the WIAA, Winter's enrollment is 105, which his slightly larger than E-T.C. Both schools have had huge problems in the first 2 weeks. E.-T.C. has lost 64-6 and 54-0 in it's 2 games. Winter has lost 66-0 and 48-0 in it's 2 games. Should be a good same then. Kudos to both schools for getting together to play a 9th game for it's student athletes.

Senior Posts: 336 09/18/09 4:27 PM	more updates: Rapid River has filled it's week 4 open date by playing AuGres-Sims at St. Ignace on Friday Sept. 18th. Interesting that Rapid River passed up a chance to host Stephenson in week 4. Word has it the R.R. coaches did not think they could compete with Stephenson even though (via their co-op) they have a bigger enrollment than Stephenson. Also, www.highschoolsports.net has Muskegon Catholic Central playing host to a school called Westside Christian Academy in week 8, to replace the cancelled game against Melvindale ABT. Per Max Preps, Westside Christian Academy (out of Detroit) is the school hss is referring to. This must be some kind of quasi home school team. They also have games scheduled against Flint Southwestern (week 4) and Saginaw Buena Vista (week 7). Interesting that B.V. also has a game scheduled against Mason that week. Flint Southwestern has a game scheduled at Flint Northern in week 4. Grandville Calvin Christian has filled it's week 8 open date (after Tri-unity christian cancelled) and will host Detroit Consortium College Prep.
