BCS High School Football |
Lead | ||

So, it's off season and I've been wondering this now. Personally I think the BCS is a horrible system, but if we had it for Michigan High School
football, what would be the 8 Championship games and the other BCS bowls for each Division?

I propose the following bowls:
Cereal Bowl-sponsored by Kellogg's and played in Battle Creek Chemical Bowl- sponsored by Dow and played in Midland Toilet Bowl - sponsored by Kwame Kilpatrick and played in Detroit Fish Fly Bowl - sponsored by AARP and played in St. Clair Shores Bluewater Bridge Bowl - sponsored by US Border Patrol and played in Port Huron Feel free to add any more BS (Bowl Series) games if you like. |

I think we need a Yupper Bowl held somewhere in the UP (Marquette, Sault St. Marie? I'm not very versed in the UP area) and we need the BCS State
Championsip Game held at Ford Field (or perhaps alternating between other BS games)

I guess the closest thing we have to the BCS is to use something like the Massey Ratings to determine the participants. ....

It'd be interesting if they had the games be like
State Title: BCS Overall #1 vs BCS Overall #2 Cereal Bowl: Division 1 BCS #1 vs Division 2 BCS #1 Chemical Bowl: Division 3 BCS #1 vs Division 4 BCS #1 Capital Bowl: Division 5 BCS #1 vs Division 6 BCS #1 Yooper Bowl: Division 7 BCS #1 vs Division 8 BCS #1 and it would naturally set up for some at large bids :P |

It definately be interesting to follow this. me and a friend were thinking about doing it this year, but along with playing, it would be to much. So next year
were probably going to do some trials just to see how the BCS would fare for HS sports.

Under the current system, it would be very hard for class b, c, or d teams to recieve the number 1 or 2 spot.
