Lutheran Northwest 47 Parkway Christian 35 The score was 29-28 Northwest at the half. Zurlon Tipton from Parkway was a force
throughout the game but especially in the first half. If he isn't a 4 star player, I don't know who is. CentralsFinest, I think that next year you
are going to have to give up your name. Matthew Rolf from Lutheran Northwest had over 400 yards in total offense (rushing and passing) while Jordan Skinner
had several big runs. In perhaps the biggest play of the game Matthew Rolf hit Jornell Jones for a 12 yard touchdown pass on a 4th and 10 from the 12 yard
line. That stretched the score to 47-35 and basically sealed the victory for Northwest.

I couldn't be prouder of Zurlon or the Northwest Crusaders. I would offer Zurlon the nickname, but he is too humble of a kid too take it. I, on the other
hand, am a brash, cocky a-hole who relishes the name. In all seriousness, that game was a lot of fun to watch. I think the world of the NW kids and
couldn't be prouder of them for the season they have had. On the other side, Zurlon is a wonderful young man who played his heart out tonight and I could
not be prouder to have him as a part of the Chippewa family. On an interesting sidenote, the CMU runningbacks coach was in attendance and pretty impressed by a
couple of the kids from NW.

The Stats on Rolf were wrong he had 222 yards rushing and 3 rushing Touchdowns. He also threw 15 for 22 for 253 yards and another 4 Touchdowns. Plus he added
13 tackles and a Sack.
He then followed that up by cleaning the locker room and washing the jerseys. That was one exciting game - Tipton is the real deal, he didn't take one play off and got the ball %92 of the time. His fake Punt for a 75 yard TD was amazing - he also got in on most tackles. >> CMU will find somewhere for this kid to play right away. |

... Well, last week I surfed internet but could only get limited info on the 'dregs' results:
... Lu Westland edged Lu Urban, 7-6 after trailing 6-0 into the 3rd quarter. Ethan Haller then ripped an errant Urban pass and returned it 40 yards for the tying 6 pointer. Eric Shoats added the extra point to provide WL with the margin of victory. Also helpful in the win was the Westland D holding Urban to only 85 yards! Warriors finish the season at a respectable 4-5, while Urban goes back to the drawing board for '09 (hopefully not going 0-9!). ... I saw that S Lyon E. was annihilated by S. Lyon in the week or so before, so I am assuming that the 15 strong from Hamtrammy broke into the win column against SLE. Can anyone confirm that? ... Finally, where is staunch Det Prep supporter 'highskoolfb' fan with his Prep comments?... He usually asks if Prep can still make the play-offs, so maybe the absence of that tells us enough. ... Finally II, congrats to NW and C'ville on their fine seasons! After re-checking the pre-season D. News predictions of C'ville to finish 3rd and NW fifth place in the league, I have these final comments:
...Enjoy the play-offs. Have fun!!
