Rich Rodriguez...What do you think about him now? Especially after losing to Toledo. Let me go on record as saying that I never thought he was the one for the
job. So, what is your opinion???

It's 6 games into his first damn season where the entire offensive scheme is changing...there's nothing wrong with anything. People need to settle
down. It's not a video game where you can win one game with the triple option and the next game with a run'n'shoot.

Personally? I think he came to M under bad circumstances. As a coach? I think he, and M, will be fine.
Also, I don't think much of him telling his upper classmen words to the effect of 'You are not my team. (referrring to who he recruited) You are playing for yourselves' I think that blows, but I am not a coach. Maybe there is 'honor' in being so brually blunt. If it were me, or my kid playing, I'd feel short changed.

my opinion hasn't changed.
he would not have been my first choice but he wasn't M's first choice either. This is about what I expected offensively .....i thought the D would be much better.

By the way .. my opinion from the beginning was that RR was going to be a huge success in Ann Arbor OR that things would end bad.
I don't think we know enough yet for me to lean either way. As a Notre Dame fan going though 2007 season .... I realize that sometimes unfortunately you go though a down year like this to get to where you are going .... the old ... 1 step back to go 2 steps foreword. In Notre Dame and Michigan's case .... maybe it's more like 3,4,5,6,7 steps back to go 8,9,10 steps foreword .... but you get the point.

KleShreen wrote:What? One miracle comeback away from being 1-5 with ugly losses to Illinois and ND, then a loss to Toledo? Nothing wrong? With anything? With 4-5 star recruits UM should be able to pound Toledo using only their Freshmen. RR promised to adapt his offense to his personnel, and he hasn't. He is putting a stain on this program by wasting an entire season. He may have success long term, in fact I bet he does have great success eventually, but his arrogance and refusal to adapt to his talent this year is not fair to the current players especially the Seniors. |

I will let you judge the credibility for yourself after I tell you in a PM

Pretty crazy, huh?
Actually it is a shame. Now mind you, and obvi, I was not there when this was said. As such you have to give the benefit of the doubt to the tenor and context of how it was said. HOWEVER, the tenor and context as it was told me was one of disappointment, and dare I say, anger? Now it is possible that the player and the parent have a different slant than the other....but that seems unlikely. Plus the words themselves seem fairly clear, even if I am paraphrasing them. Then coupled with what you told me, from a different source, and the pieces seem to fall together and produce a picture of discontment. As I said many times before, I have little doubt that RR will eventually amass the Ws necessary/expected in AA. But it doesn't seem that he will do so, in a way that has been a hallmark of their program. I feel bad for the kids stuck in the transition. |
