As I mentioned previously that this was a possibility Romeo overtook EGR on Massey this week:

The combined objective poll for week 7 is now in the blog. I made a mistake and the subjective poll is week 7 as well, not week 5 as listed as I forgot to
change that portion of the spreadsheet.

On Massey, MCC is ranked #1 in Class C and D. And are ranked #2 in Class B right behind EGR. 17th overall, but I think they are a little better than a 17.

Strength of Schedule | #4 | ||
|
It looks like EGR, Lowell and to a lesser extent Adams do not get penalized for their weak schedules. Looks like BBR, DCC and OLSM are 1,2 and 4 respectively
in Strength of Schedule. It doesn't surprise me. It looks like a strong strength of schedule helps the CHSL teams more than a weak schedule hurts the OK
White teams in the rankings.

Macomb Dakota has played the 3rd toughest schedule on Massey as well. Basically Clarkston won by a bigger amount than predicted last week, but still went down in the ratings (even in the rating number itself) most likely since Lake Orion put a hurt on Troy. So it appears that teams can go down based on how other teams that you faced that week fared. Prepseer when you have a weaker SOS teams have to win by a bigger margin. Massey has projected weekly scores on his website as well - just click on the team. I don't use the computer websites to make my picks. I showed how I fared better in the semis and finals compared to the computer polls last year. Plus BBR's losses has been a whole lot closer than say what they were in 2003 so far. That's why the AOPR didn't look favorably upon BBR that particular year. |

So is Holland Christian trying to move up due to margin? How big a jump did they make beating Rogers 84-18? |

I told you that it might depend on how Holland Christian's opponents fared as well by my comments. So I'm not looking all those up (you can). I can
tell you that Clarkston won by a bigger margin than expected as well and Holland Christian did, too. Clarkston moved down a spot while Holland Christian
stayed the same.
Plus I don't know if Massey or Calpreps limits the MOV compared to what it should be like Sagarin does.

Entirely too many numbers in my life already… not a member at MaxPreps or Massey and don't visit. Understood about opponents, but a coach would have no control over those games. |
