Best of luck to all of the kids straping it up tonight. This is the best time of year (sorry March madness fans). Hope everyone can get out to a highschool game near you and support the kids. Also, here is hoping that this will be a serious injury free year, and that all of the kids have a great football experience! Again, a tip of my favorite old EK hat to you and good luck to one and all... GO EK!! |

I take Z West by 7. Inkster is good, but Z West is just a great program (I know they've only been there a few years, but Shilito and co. are a fine oiled
machine). We'll see - that's half the fun of week one, everything is just a guess. Here we go...

Well that game was closer than I expected. Inkster COULD have gotten it out of hand, but two dropped TD passes (WIDE open, talking nobody within 15 yards) by
the same receiver kept them out of the endzone twice, and Inkster's coaches had no idea what to do on defense. You can't put 7 guys in the box against
a Wing-T that is run as good as Z-West's is run.

I was leaning for ZW to win because of Shilito's offense and all, but then I read somewhere that they only had a small handful of returning starters. Plus
I don't think that Det Met teams travel west all that well. All things considered, and for all the Inkster hype, it sounds like ZW accounted well of
themselves.
