Junior Posts: 28 08/22/08 3:48 PM	Tags : None As everyone knows, only one school in Kalamazoo County (Climax-Scotts) plays non-league games. I have devised a plan to fix this whole mess and it is to merge several conferences and realign several existing conferences. My division breakdowns are strictly enrollment (no geography considered). Kalamazoo/SW Michigan Mega Conference (Consolidation of SMAC, Wolverine, KVA) Red Division Battle Creek Central Battle Creek Lakeview Kalamazoo Central Kalamazoo Loy Norrix Mattawan Portage Central Portage Northern White Division Benton Harbor Niles Richland Gull Lake Saint Joseph Stevensville Lakeshore Sturgis Blue Division Allegan Battle Creek Harper Creek Coldwater Plainwell Three Rivers Vicksburg Green Division Comstock Edwardsburg Marshall Otsego Paw Paw South Haven Gold Division Battle Creek Pennfield Coloma Delton Kellogg Dowagiac Union Parchment Vermontville Maple Valley Silver Division Constantine Galesburg-Augusta Kalamazoo Christian Kalamazoo Hackett Olivet Schoolcraft Also, several other conferences would have changes in membership. Jackson Lumen Christi would move from the SMAC to the CAAC in football. JLC is already in the CAAC for all other sports. Coloma and Edwardsburg would move from the Lakeland to the new mega conference. Three Oaks River Valley would move from the Lakeland to the Red Arrow. Centreville, Mendon, and White Pigeon would move from the St. Joseph Valley to the Lakeland. Bronson would move from the St. Joseph Valley to the Big Eight. Reading would move from the Big Eight to the SCAA. Typical Football Schedule Red Division Week 1 Non-Conference Week 2 Conference Week 3 Conference Week 4 Conference Week 5 Conference Week 6 Conference Week 7 Conference Week 8 Conference Week 9 Pre-determined crossover One week between 2 and 8 would be non-conference. Other Divisions Week 1 Non-Conference Week 2 Non-Conference Week 3 Conference Week 4 Conference Week 5 Conference Week 6 Conference Week 7 Conference Week 8 Pre-determined crossover Week 9 Pre-determined crossover (one team would play non-conference due to odd number of schools)

All-Area Posts: 514 08/25/08 10:17 PM South-Central Mich.	Honestly, I don't mind the multiple conferences that are in the area. I don't see this ever happening, and here's why (in my opinion, of course) 1) I think the Red Division would work, but I think Lakeview would miss playing natural rivals in Harper Creek, Sturgis, Marshall and Coldwater (the old Twin Valley). 2) Sturgis would be in the same boat as Lakeview in the White. That and Gull Lake would not give up their 28 consecutive Wolverine All-Sports titles (I know, I went there). 3) The Blue would be great for Harper Creek, and I think they would go for it. 4) In the Green, Marshall wouldn't want to go that far west. (They hate going to Kalamazoo. They'll have to deal with it next year). 5) Lumen Christi won't ever go back to the Capital Circuit. They were kicking everybody's tail, yet the conference thought they would be great for their D III. They needed to be in D II. 6) Mendon would want to get in this. No question. Reading would not leave the Big 8. I would propose to move Bronson and Centreville into the Big 8 and make it the Big 10. The Gold and the Silver I think would be great. Other than those six factors (more like five), it could work. Bring back my show, "The Arena", to Battle Creek, please!!! Call my boss!
