The filet at Appeteaser, when your fav team wins or lots of liquid at The Red Doggie if they lose? Coincidentally, the last time I was at Duke's of Milford I started out with a tortilla 'soup' Thanks for the alternate suggestions though.

Not only Appateaser, but there's also Five Lakes Grill, whose chef is 4- or 5-star. There was too much business at the Red Dog last season, if you catch my drift. By the way, the wings at the Red Dog are good. After that...meh. But yeah, if you want to get railed, the Red Dog is probably the crowd.

I pretty much agree with the "meh"... My total Milford dining/night life experience consists of the Red Dog, Lu and Rubys and .. oh ya.. (gotta have a brew with a burger) On the burger note, I finally ate a burger at Miller's this year. It was very good as per GQ's top 10 endorsement some time back, wax paper 'presentation,' 9 ounce draft glasses and all. Don't bother with the fries or O rings though. It might be a place to hit after a Fordson, Dearborn, or DDC home game as it is located on the N side of MI Ave about 4 blocks E of Telegraph. And......I think I saw The Colonel at the Red Dog Saloon in Milford recently. lol I was going to go Duke's but knew I would never see the good Colonel there.

Actually the Cheeburger Cheeburger I went to was in Chattanooga ... only then while reading the menu did I realize they had them in Michigan. If anyone is up to a big burger ... if you eat the Pounder (20 oz. burger) at Cheeburger Cheeburger ... they put your picture on the Wall of Fame. No, I didn't try. I had a pretty decent Chicken Sandwich and some average mini tacos. Mostly because most places you go the the wings are garbage in my opinion, especially a lot of bars and diner type places. ..... especially when the menu calls them "wing dings"......... though a good wing is among my favorite foods to order. Unless I'm at a handful of places, I usually stay away from Wings and get a burger or something that is more difficult to screw up. Freshmen Unranked Walkon Hi! I'm New Here! Posts: 1 08/06/08 11:45 PM	I have to agree Lu and Rubys is pretty sweet. I've been to many bars in Milford and by far lu and rubys is the best one. I'm not a "regular" but it seems like every time I come in their there are specials of all sorts and wednesday i think was 35 cent wings in five or six flavors. They had two dollar shock tops but I prefer the ninety nine cent pbr's myself. the wait staff is pretty hot too, i couldnt make up my mind whether to look at the girls or look at the tv.

I used to go to the one in Livonia almost every week for a while about 7 or 8 years ago .... The deal only started after 9pm every Wed. ... For those interested they have locations in Westland, Lake Orion and Belleville ... not only fast food type stuff but they actually have some "dinners' as well as deserts. Another Addition to my Pizza List. G's Pizza.... I ate there a few years back at the Oscoda, MI location and really enjoyed it .... and ate their again this past weekend at their Lake Orion location .... I would put G's in my top 3 for pizza joints.

Posts: 1089 11/12/09 11:34 AM Forum Donor	Looking at all these eastside eateries just before lunch… I'd have to agree that the Culver's butter burger does beat out Sonic (we got a Sonic last year) and Steak 'n Shake is #2 on the truly 'fast food' burger circuit. But my main interest was looking for pizza… Buddy's pizza. Had it in Detroit while going to UD 40 yrs ago, after a long time we went to one after a game at Tiger Stadium and I was sure my memories were over-hyping it. But I talked the van of us into finding one and everyone loved it (relief-would have been a long ride home if it had bombed.) But as you can see Tiger Stadium was a while back. Are they still going strong? There was a pizza place on the very sw side of Chicago- it was a suburb with a 'down-town', not a stripmall area, (two story - wood interior - almost chalet) - recommended by hotel staff while with a Connie Mack team at a tourney about 5 years ago. Great antipasto salad that fed the table (4 adults), we went back the next night also. Of course I lost the sample/take-out menu. Didn't think the pizza was as good as Buddy's but great eating experience none the less. Questions encouraged. Will respond to 'what ifs' about particular teams. Posts: 1093 11/13/09 11:44 AM Forum Donor	Should at least mention the Cottage Burger from the Cottage Bar down by GR Catholic Central (not that it is near any of our football games - we've been on the road for 99 seasons) where I've enjoyed many a burger with their Cottage fries after home basketball games. (Also fairly close to VanAndel Arena). They have a long history of good beers available. They do seem to be always crowded and are known for their slow service - so it's got to be the food that keeps them a downtown GR favorite. Questions encouraged. Will respond to 'what ifs' about particular teams. AuldSchool
