Sorry, but for me, nothing beats on-field production, and Manningham was better. You can do all the drills and tests you want, but all that matters to me is what they do on the field during a game.

the thing that makes me go for the stater is this. First Mario is 5-11 and is slower. Devin is taller and faster. Second the verticle would make the final distiction but I dont see that stat yet. As for production that is split half and half. Devin did not play the year before that much so frankly I just used the last year stats. Those stats look pretty similar.

The model for WRs in the NFL is definitely going the way of the larger more physical player. MM has marginally better stats overall, but MM also had the benefit of having more offensive threats for defenses to concern themselves with. Basically DT EXPLODED this year. He will go higher in the draft.

Pretty good for a kid who came outta a Full House T, Tight T, Straight T, or whatever the heck they called their formation at Canton. But the kid done right good coming from a team who competed with DCC to see who could throw the ball less.

Agree, the kid from State will be a better receiver in the NFL.. Besides having more tools in the box and therefore more upside, MM has a terrible attitude which will not serve him well.

As far as DT playing in the Bay City T whch is what Canton runs. That just goes to show you all that stuff about running what they run on the next level is horse poooooooooeeeey. Antonio Bass was a single wing tailback but was recruited by U of M as an athlete and slotted in at wide reciever, despite never having played that position in high school. And there are a million stories like that out there. Brett Farve was a wishbone QB for his dad in hs, Tom Brady was a wing T qb, Alex Smith and Reggie Bush were in the SAME wing- T offense in hs and on and on.

Ya, I didn't even realize it was the same kid from Canton until recently since he went the Juco route ...

For some reason I'm thinking MM will be the better pro despite the combine stuff.

I also thought Charles Rogers and Mike Williams would be great pros, so take that for what it's worth.

Personally, I thought MW and CR would dominate the pro game...especially MW. I think MM is too small, too slow, and drops too many passes to be more than a 3rd receiver. DT will go 1st Round now.

MM will definitely be a better pro. combine numbers don't mean garbage. combine numbers don't measure how a player plays football. mario is a smart player with a splendid double move and very good hands (except for last year's osu game in which everyone was dropping everything). and although he may have run a 4.58 or whatever, everyone knows he's much faster than that. just ask the super fast florida defense. i'm not saying thomas won't be good, but whoever gets mario is getting a steal, especially if he drops to the second round.

I don't think MM is durable enough to be a reliable pro. He might contribute as a 3 or a slot guy, but bottom line for me is he was hurt some at U-M and the guy is on the smaller end to begin with. What happens when he starts taking NFL size hits?
Then again, he probably is more talented than guy like Mike Furrey so I think he could carve out a spot somewhere if he stays healthy.
For me, I take DT believing he will be the better pro.

MHSAA Football Stats

People on the NFLNetwork seem to believe that Devin Thomas could be the first WR taken in the draft. Mario ran a slow 40 at the combine so he'll have to do better at UM's pro day. Hart ran a slow time at the combine as well but is still expected to go in the 3rd - 4th round.
