All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7385 03/17/07 10:05 PM MHSAA Football Stats	Tags : None You'll have to go down to the proper place to get them: www.mhsaa.com/resources/administration.htm I'll be putting them in football order after Clarkston is eliminated from the basketball tournament. I'll be doing the same thing as last year and put them by the average divisional breakdown. I see Gibraltor Carlson is Class A and Hillsdale is Class C now. I'll make another similar list that I did last year on which schools are moving up and which ones are moving down. OLSM can't opt up since they are a Class A school next year. I think that Lansing Sexton is in the same boat. Does anyone know of a new school playing football or any that cancelled last year (such as Waterford Mount Zion) that will be playing this fall? This list isn't compete but I'll start it: Class B moving up to Class A Flint Southwestern Gibraltor Carlson Lansing Sexton (can't opt up) OLSM (can't opt up) St. Clair Shores Lake Shore Warren Woods Tower Class A moving down to Class B Cadillac Detroit Northern Escanaba Grand Rapids Central Jackson Northwest Lansing Waverly Class B moving down to Class C Albion Cass City Hillsdale River Rouge Scottville-Mason County Central Class C moving up to Class B Buchanan Detroit Old Redford Inkster Vermontville Maple Valley Wyoming Kellogsville Class C moving down to Class D Deckerville Mio New Lothrop Onekama Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary (edit and if they don't close) Class D moving up to Class C L'Anse Mendon New Buffalo That's a good start for now. I'll have more in the future. It appears that I can't find more. There should probably be at least one Class D moving up to Class C for an offset based on the above information. They can not play-up to D2 anymore. If enrollment now dictates ... OLSM will be D3 for the 2007 football playoffs ... All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7385 03/18/07 12:30 AM MHSAA Football Stats	Before Searn beats me to the punch, Detroit Catholic Central will be easily division 1 if they qualify for the playoffs this fall. FHH appears to be a borderlline D2/D3 team while the Adrian Maples fall to D3. Mendon is probably in D7 while Mio drops to D8. These are based on just what the MHSAA has with no adjustments done so far such as getting rid of the girls schools and putting the co - op teams in the proper place. Caledonia is another borderline D2/D3 team and while Mendon should wind up in D7, they are a borderline D7/D8 team (within the historical range).

All-Searn 1st Team Posts: 2001 03/18/07 4:57 AM Dean of Stadiums Forum Donor	WOW Holland HS dropped a TON! They were around 1635 in 04 and now are down to just 1365. The past two years they dropped 123 and 111. That is just shocking. BTW I agree with the OK conf in switching them with Muskegon but I still think a 3 teir system with the top 12 in population followed by 26 then 6 should be the method of the conference for alignment. But That is just me. Need to find a facility or find infomation about a facility for High School Football in the State of Michigan. Come to Michigan High School Stadium Site for a visit and to find the info you are looking for.

All-State Posts: 768 03/18/07 7:55 AM Shooter Forum Donor	Another school that I noticed that made a big jump is St. Clair Shores Lake Shore High School who went from a student number of 1000 this past year to 1247 for next year. I don't think they got that many new students, but maybe they are counting alternative ed kids and/or night school kids, but to make a jump like that and become a Class A school for the first time in over 15 years is rather surprising.

I hope it's the former because I'd hate to see Grandville split into Grandville Central and Grandville Northern. Also, Grand Haven continues their yearly decline and are now down to 1,944. Like 4 years ago they were near 2,100. Holland took a huge hit. I can't believe they've lost THAT many students in just two years. Hard to believe Muskegon's enrollment went up that much. Did they decide to include their alternative education students again to try to get back into Division 1?

There are some more new schools that could potentially field teams plus some old programs could potentially bring them back as well. All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7385 03/19/07 7:18 AM MHSAA Football Stats	In case people want to compare year over year class breakpoints: 2006-07 MHSAA Enrollment List CLASS A -- 1053 and above CLASS B -- 1052-508, inclusive CLASS C -- 507-245, inclusive CLASS D-- 244 and below 2007-08 MHSAA Enrollment List Class A – 1055 and above Class B – 507 – 1054, inclusive Class C – 249 – 506, inclusive Class D – 248 and below Here are the differences: Class A = +2 Class B = +2 and -1 Class C = -1 and +4 Class D = +4 First number for B and C indicates the higher number and second number indicates the last number. Just noticed that another interesting team Detroit King moved down to Division 2 for this fall.

All-Searn 1st Team Posts: 2001 03/19/07 7:32 AM Dean of Stadiums Forum Donor	I do not think South Lyon East is open for varsity. I think they are just for Freshman and maybe some Sophmores. South Lyon went down to 1715 a drop of 356 from 2071 last year. So I think if you add both schools together you get 2146 last year. So that would be more than likely be just the fresh and possibly the sophmores last year depending on the percentage each school will be taking. Eastpointe Eaton Academy is the old Detroit School of Ind Arts charter. I guess after the internal review of the school they cut it loose after it failed the review. Somebody else must have picked up the tab. Detroit Universal Academy is a charter school if you want to call it that of Detroit Public Schools. Auburn Hills Greater Life Academy, Warren Conner Creek Academy West has started last year in the MHSAA. Academy of Inkster, Kimball-New Life Christian Academy, Westland-Huron Valley Lutheran they have been part of the MHSAA for my records of the past 2 years. Detroit-West Village Academy North is a charter school in the south part of Detroit area. It has only been up to 9th grade. Could be adding Varsity sports now. K-5 has around 600 students. Greenville-Grattan Academic its a charter school based out in Belding/Greenville area. Has been around since 96 as a K-8 charter no further info provided. Could be first year HS. Need to find a facility or find infomation about a facility for High School Football in the State of Michigan. Come to Michigan High School Stadium Site for a visit and to find the info you are looking for.

All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7385 03/19/07 7:46 AM MHSAA Football Stats	Here are the schools that were on the initial SEN list last year that didn't play football plus one has to include those schools above that I said that I couldn't locate on the MHSAA list this year. So if what you say is true, then those schools were added at a later date since I went by the initial list. I haven't added those 10 or so new schools in my spreadsheet yet but will probably do so now. The numbers are this year SEN numbers since I did that part of the project first. The Kimball school was listed down below. There was some controversy before the football season began over which Conner Creek Academy played last year - Roseville or Warren. Roseville was on my football file while Warren was on this list. This was a very long time consuming project compared to my high school basketball district one. I have 07, 06, & 05 done. 04 is done through Division 3 and most Division 4. But those are just the FB enrollements I still need to add the non football as well for the 04 numbers. I plan on double checking my 05 & 06 numbers for the nons. In anycase if you happen to come across the 02-03 and earlier numbers for enrollement feel free to pass them along. I do not have access to them at the present moment. I think I can get the football numbers for each of those years. Need to find a facility or find infomation about a facility for High School Football in the State of Michigan. All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7385 03/19/07 8:09 PM MHSAA Football Stats	It appears to me that the Inkster SEN was a real number. I say this since I've two scenarios that this happened. 1. The PSL had a teacher strike last year. Quite a few students ending up going to other schools. Take a look at Detroit King, they fell down to D2, and is missing 300+ students. 2. Secondly the halfway point in Class B would be 283.5, which is close to where Pontiac Notre Dame is by my calculations.

Forum Donor	I also wonder, in some cases, if schools are dropping their alternative school kids from the count and not letting them participate. Hillsdale took quite a drop down to Class C, and I think that they may have eliminated their alternative kids from the count, but I'm trying to verify that as fact.

So you can compare some of the schools that changed classes with them and see if it is along similar numbers. Class B moving down to Class C Albion -36 Cass City -35 Hillsdale - 48 River Rouge -162 Scottville-Mason County Central -32

All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7385 03/30/07 4:56 PM MHSAA Football Stats	Can anyone spot an extra school in my list as the MHSAA has 762 listed on their sheet? I come up with 763 MHSAA schools as follows: 1. football schools 619 2. schools forming co - op with #1 schools 33 3. schools not playing football 107 4. all girl schools 4 TOTAL 763 Just for TNTDyno, I came up with another school that closed according to the MHSAA SEN list: East Lansing Lakeside Christian. People have to remove them from my 98 team list that I formed on here. Schools not playing football totals 106 now and that makes my total 762, same as the MHSAA's.
