The SRO on King's side was 3-4 deep all the way along the fence. I was forced to stand the entire second half in the bleachers just to try to get a view of the action. The King crowd should be hyped and quite large in numbers at Ford Field. I hope the Chemics bring a huge contingent too.

There will be a very large crowd from Midland and surrounding communities (especially since Saginaw Nouvel will be playing in the very next game). Maybe not Rockford-large, but still significant.

If other folks think it's not as exciting as the Muskegon vs Adams game that most folks expected a month ago, well, that's their problem. Every one of the schools (save Rice) that are name schools in D-2 weren't on the radar screen ten years ago (Muskegon was struggling, and Lowell, Hudsonville, and Adams hadn't played in the finals at that point). New schools emerge all the time and it's nice to see some changes. If a matchup between two teams from the two longest-standing large school conferences isn't intriguing, that's too bad.

Fair, question, but this smells like a bit of snobbery So the polls anointed a few programs and therefore it they don't make it to Ford, it's a let down? Yes I'm a bit of a homer, but I'd like to see teams that haven't been there recently. And FWIW, neither of the D2 teams are new. Maybe the HS football purists want the same matchups each year, but as a fan, I enjoy seeing the excitement of schools that haven't been there recently. Good luck to all the participants at Ford this week. And FWIW, weren't the semi's in D2 some exciting games? What more could one want?
