Season: 38-6
Lutheran North at Madison Heights Madison: Madison has outscored its opponents 354-71. They breezed through the Macomb Silver, and were only really tested by St. Clair Shores Lake Shore, whom they topped 8-6. The Eagles made it to Ford Field last year, where they lost the Division 5 finals to Menominee, but along the way they beat Almont, Country Day, Lake Fenton and Hillsdale. They are obviously playoff tested. In a sense, that makes this a great opportunity for North. No one expects them to win, so they can play loose and take some chances. If they win, the players will have something that they can look back on with great pride forever. Friday night may bring rain, which can cause turnovers and lead to upsets. I'd love to see the Mustangs win this one, but I see it Madison Heights Madison 26, Lutheran North 7.
Byron at Harper Woods: Byron was a solid third in the Genessee Blue, but none of the teams that they've beaten has been anywhere near the Pioneers' caliber. The Eagles have given up an average of almost 19 points per game for the season, and, weather permitting, Harper Woods should top that. The Pioneers have lots of weapons, including size and speed. Harper Woods 26, Byron 14.
