1) The Lakeland wing back had a hold of the Milford OLB all night, but holding is rarely called, so that goes both ways.
2) Again, look at the yardage totals not only for the game, but especially the first half.
3) By the way, if the kid isn't a jack ass, then how come his head coach apologized after the game? Maltese has great character, and a few people at Lakeland do but even they cannot overcome a school half devoid of it.
2) Look at the yardage totals not only for the game, but especially the SECOND half. It was definitely a tale of two halves played by two very good teams. (Lakeland intentionally lost 40 yards to end the game, does this alter anyone's perception of the game itself?) As for the helmet toss, it was in the heat of the moment as the kid was walking back to his bench. He had just been cheated out of 2 points by the same "gutless wonder" that was afraid to make the correct call. He clearly scored and the game should have been tied. Does that make it excusable? NO way. I did notice that Coach Maltese immediately got in the kid's business and I bet you'll never see anything like that ever happen again.
3) BOTH Coach Maltese and Coach Fox have great character, are good coaches and run good programs. Leave it at that. People at Milford tend to forget that kids make mistakes, some bigger then others. (An Ex-Milford QB's run in with the law and off the field problems didn't seem to earn him a suspension or any disciplinary actions now did it?) Compare that to an angry helmet toss in the heat of the moment in the fourth quarter of a tight game and all I can say is... People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
