Senior Posts: 286 06/15/09 10:25 PM	Tags : None Per highschoolsports.net, Muskegon Catholic Central has finally filled it's 2009 schedule. For week 8, they will be hosting Melvindale Academy for Business & Tech. Yes, the same A.B.T. school that was forced to forfeit the 2009 State C Boys Basketball Championship due to an ineligible player. If this game is actually a go, then A.B.T. will be playing it's very first season of varsity football. Senior Posts: 287 06/16/09 5:41 PM	Per the Detroit CHSL website, updated 06-09-09, A.B.T. will be playing at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep in week 3. That's 2 big games for a first year program. Shame on the A.D. at St. Mary's Prep for not wanting to play Inkster in week 3. And shame on him twice for scheduling a first year program.

Unfortunately Melvindale ABT hasn't listed the football team under the athletics link yet. http://www.leonagroup.com/abt/ I do believe that they need to schedule 7 games to be playoff eligible. George Porritt's reputation will take a big hit on both scores. I think we can infer from these actions that OLSM will not be very good this year, Robert Bolden's presence notwithstanding. I guess they must still be bummed about not making the playoffs last year. Playing ABT will be like playing a Canadian team. It's not going to do much to prepare OLSM for the CHSL schedule. Plus, not many POP's there. They must be a Class C or D school--plus one that probably won't have many wins. An Inkster-OLSM matchup would have been one of the year's most interesting. I guess we'll have to wait for the playoffs to see it, unless Inkster ends up in Div. 2.

All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 6681 06/17/09 1:31 PM MHSAA Football Stats	I tried to do this privately, but exactly which other first year program did OLSM play in the regular season since I can't find one listed on John's website? Postseason is different if you are claiming it was a playoff game since obviously the playoff team would have won their way into the MHSAA tournament. Plus I want to point out that every team was a first year program at one point in time, including BBR and DCC. As far as the number of wins is concerned: it appears that Melvindale ABT is playing a pretty good schedule right now especially for a first year program. It isn't like this school hasn't been around for a little while either as they've had other successful sports teams. All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 6728 07/02/09 9:05 PM MHSAA Football Stats	This shoves NL to the first team in D8 in my average division breakpoint since MABT scheduled the required 7 games to make the playoffs. MABT is team #538 which puts them in D7 for now, but they very well could be a potential D8 team since they aren't that far from NL.

Senior Posts: 295 07/03/09 5:51 PM	The Gators may have found it's 7th game if Warren Conner Creek Academy West does indeed need to cancel it's season. Per the MHSAA schedules, they have A.B.& T playing at Ypsilanti Willow Run in week 5. Originally, the Flyers were scheduled to host W.C.C.A.W. in week 5. Also, John has it on his site that each opponent that has been scheduled to play W.C.C.A.W. now has an open date for the season. There was nothing in the online editions of the Det. News or Free Press about W.C.C.A.W. forgoing it's season, or even perhaps if W.C.C.A.W. is closing it'doors. Either way, it looks like A.B.&T. now has it's official 7th game, thus allowing it to play the minimum amount of games to be considered for a playoff berth. THat would be highly unlikely for this first year squad, mainly due to the difficult schedule it has put together so far.

Senior Posts: 298 07/14/09 6:50 PM	Some changes on highschoolsports.net and MHSAA site for A.B.T. First for Dryden on HSS.net, they no longer show the Cardinals hosting the Gators in week 7. Dryden now shows an open date there. And on MHSAA, it lists Detroit Allen Academy hosting A.B.T. in week 7. Also on that same schedule for Allen Academy, it shows A.A. playing at Saginaw in week 6. That is ridiculous. Saginaw is playing at Flint Northwestern in week 6. This game gives both Allen Academy and A.B.T. 7 games so far for this season.

For A.B.T., it lists the Gators playing at Flint Northern. Also MHSAA lists A.B.T. playing at Detroit Western in week 5 when earlier they had A.B.T. Ypsilanti Willow Run. (after word got out that Warren Conner Creek Academy West had cancelled it's season). What Gives? We'll just have to wait and see which games are correct for A.B.T. Senior Posts: 301 07/15/09 4:56 PM	More craziness with A.B.T., Per highschoolsports.net and the MHSAA schedules, Muskegon Cathlolic Central hosting A.B.T. has been cancelled, and now both teams have open dates for week 8. Silly roller coaster scheduling is going here for A.B.T. As for M.C.C., the only Michigan school left with an open date for week 8 is Redford Covenant. R.C. most likely would be an opponent for A.B.T. THere are 2 possible schools from Gary IN and one IL school for M.C.C. to look at for filling it's open date.
