Detroit CC new number 2094 (1047)----this is a solid number considering the losses of the state in general they are doing very well. (Of course I've been told the miminum entrance score at DCC was slightly lower this year to keep numbers, but regardless very solid) This shows a number that actually went up, very good sign for DCC.
DeLaSalle new number 1650 (825)--- A drop of about 100 (50) That's a pretty decent drop, and is about as low as the enrollment has been since before the closing of the schools in the archdiocese.
Rice new number 1390 (695)---only a slight drop from the year before, nothing on the outside that would make you worried, so far so stable at Rice.
OLSM 986 (493)---This again is the lowest number since before the school closings, but OLSM's history is all over the place in regards to enrollment, this is either a trend, or not a huge deal...the next year or two will prove it.
U of D 1362 (681)--Slight drop again, and the lowest number since '99. This is a trend that does not bode well for U of D, several small drops begin to add up.
Divine Child 876---much like U of D, another small drop, smallest enrollment since 2002.
Overall the total enrollment numbers for the Central look like this...... 8,358 (4,179)---down from 8,504 (4,252).
So overall my feeling is that the reduction this past year form the CHSL only mimicks the state numbers, and does not show a massive loss. This is a good sign. (The lower divisions are another story). If the economy can turn around in the next year some of my predictions may be averted. We will have to wait and see.
