CHSL Draftees |

By my count, there were three CHSL alumni drafted in the 2009 NFL Draft: Connor Barwin (UD Jesuit/Cincinnati) in the second round by Houston Texans, Morgan
Trent (OLSM/Michigan) in the sixth round by the Cincinnati Bengals and T.J. Lang (Brother Rice/EMU) in the fourth round by the Green Bay Packers.. Did I miss
any others? Not many other Michigan leagues had alumni drafted. The only one I noticed was Terrance Taylor (Muskegon/Michigan) in the fourth round by the
Indianapolis Coltss Any other players from Michigan high schools drafted. It looks like there are no other leagues with as many as the CHSL. Sean Griffin
(CC/Michigan) could make it four for the CHSL, but it looks like he might have to go the free agent route. Once you get into the seventh round, that might be
preferable to getting drafted by a bad team.

Barwin was drafted by Houston.
Griffin signed a free agent contract with Seattle. |

Thanks Kay. I made the correction on Barwin.
It's unusual for the PSL to not have anyone drafted. So, including Griffin, four out of the five players from Michigan headed to the NFL are from the Catholic League, with one each from UDJ, OLSM, BBR and CC. I'm sure there will be some more free agents signed. If anyone hears of a Michigan player signed, please post it here. |

It looks like David Grimes (DePorres/Notre Dame) signed a free agent contract.
