So now everyone needs to wait and see how much Calendonia wins by. I'm not a fan of either schools, but I can't see JLC beating Caledonia.
What I like about both tournaments is it really "grounds" expectations concerning the smaller schools. I think alot of people get the idea that some of the division 7 schools are super awesome and you could just drop them on a field against any average MAC Red school and they'd teach those bigger schools a lesson. What the tournaments do is force people to really look at what happens when those schools do meet up. It sort of shows why we do have divisions and the value of them. Holland Christian, Montague, St. Francis, etc... all had great teams...but you can't put them up against the "big boys" and just watch them roll. They have the talent to "pull one off"...but much like really good smaller schools in the NCAA basketball tourney, they are mererly a threat to advance to the Sweet 16 or Great 8...not a real threat to win the tourney outright.
