It's looking more and more like the Lions may not win a game this season. I only see one maybe two winnable games left on their schedule. Minnesota at home
and @ Green Bay and the only way they have a shot @ Green Bay is if the Packers have clinched a playoff spot and they site their big boys.

Can you EVEN believe it GHS? They came within hours of not selling out Thanksgiving.
Well, I hope that William Clay Ford is going to enjoy his legacy , as owner of the only NFL team to go 0-16, possibly gonna lose us the Thanksgiving game, heck, who knows, even lose the franchise? |

Well seeing how Ford Motor CO. and the rest of the big three were in Washington this week lobbying Congress for aid this week. I would think he would be
shopping the franchise around trying to save his company.

Hey GHS. At least 2 of my 3 requests have come true. No way is that old man going to sell the team though. Darn.
I would've liked the organization to hold off on the promotions though. I understand that Mayhew took Dallas to the cleaners on the Williams deal, but still. And hey, without MM to screw it up, we may actually do something with the draft picks this time around. You old enough to remember when Minnesota gave up everything to get Herschel Walker? The draft picks paved the way for Dallas to make their run in the nineties. I heard on sports radio that one of the espn (?) writers suggested league intervention to assist the Lions. How embarrassing is that? Might be need though. Any chance they could lure Parcells from Miami after such a short stay? For GM I mean. Or does that fly in the face of the promotions today? |

Yeah I remember the blockbuster deal that was swung for Walker back in the day. Dallas was able to put together an entire team for one guy. I believe that
trade resulted in them getting Emit Smith, Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin. Not a bad deal.
Anyway I agree I am not impressed with them hanging on to Mayhew either but only time will tell if it was the right move. I really think they need to replace everyone from the owner on down to the water boy but I think we all knew that was not going to happen. |

I am really frustrated with this team.
I just voted on the poll on the next thread (and tried to reply) What a joke. And no surprise that the FB pundits on this forum were unanimous in their thought that Ford Sr should have waited on the promotions. Other names that MIGHT have been viable to come to the organization - Parcells, Cowher, Pioli. Based on those three POSSIBILITIES alone, I would have waited. Ford will spend money. That has never been the question. His FB intelligence surely needs to be questioned. Keeping all of us Lions' fans in "football prison" for these last eight years.......*BAH* And.....KEEP THE STATMAN!! |
