Livonia Stevenson? + Northville? + Novi? + Salem? - South Lyon? - South Lyon East? + its going to be between the top three teams above for the division. south lyon will nv be a solid program again since it is now being split into 2 schools. patsfan, how can you say that livonia stevenson will be worse? they return 8 starters on offense (4 of their 5 best skill players and 4 linemen) and 4 on defense (2 dl 1 lb 1 S) |

Just my thoughts on Stevenson! All new coaching staff which could bring in a new system to learn. A.W. possibly not coming back as well. Seems like a lot of
changes and adjustments even though many starters are returning. We'll see!

Stevenson + (Return 4 lineman and A.W. have the tools to make a run for a title)
Northville = (Good solid program, should finish second behind SHS) Novi - (Overachieved last year, expect them to win the games they should, but should have trouble against Northville and SHS) Salem = (What can i say, they are constantly bad) South Lyon - (With the move to the two schools, their years as a power are over) South Lyon East + (What can i say, they're like the lions. There is only one way to go and it's up)

Also, it's funny because every year I have noticed that Franklin people say that Stevenson is going to be worse, and yet stevenson seems to beat franklin every year (not counting the incredible 9-0 season franklin had 4 years ago). So, if stevenson only gets worse, then what does that say about franklins program? just wondering... |

You guys are the team to beat!
I would say jealousy and wishful thinking for next year. Lets admit it, Stevenson hates Franklin and Franklin hates Stevenson.(Wouldn't want it any other way!) Here is my take for next season: We will play each other and Franklin will win a close game.(hopefully we will have a kicker that can make some extra points...hint, hint!) I still think Stevenson will win their division. Franklin will have a hell of a time with Canton and Glen. Now for Franklin team next year, Almost the entire offensive line returns, Baumgardner, Gadsby, Vantuyl will be back. Defense will be much improved and you have some really good back ups that can fill in. I can't wait to see what happens! Dante |

As for the hatred between the schools, i really have no problem with franklin 51 weeks out of the year. its just the one small week that i really hate
everything about franklin, whether it is right or wrong. i know that i can speak for some of the players at Stevenson that we have mad respect for the program
at franklin, and we love the rivalry.

South Lyon's last senior class that was before the split just went through the turnstiles. I believe South Lyon will be a big (-), despite their struggles
this year.

I heard he's going up to Varsity this year to help coach. Is that true and if so, who's the JV coach? What about the Varsity QB spot? You said that
the whole backfield is coming back, but who does Franklin have taking the snaps?

Diponio will be the varsity defense coach next year.
I know they have moved someone down from varsity to take the JV position. I think the QB position is between 3 people. Mike Beasely, Little and the JV QB last year. I'm sure there will be some heated battles for this position. With all this talk about skilled position players, I'm so glad that I am coaching the lineman!!

Livonia Stevenson =
Northville + Novi = Salem? - South Lyon? - South Lyon East + I believe Northville is the sleeper this year. This classes sophomore and freshmen year's were outstanding. Losing only one game and going undefeated sophomore year. The 2010 class in northville looks very strong. They have had many move in's from different states and different schools. Also, with the teams turn around last year many more atheltes are going to come out for the team. The 2011 class has many athletes. I believe that one kid was up for two or three games in place of Josh Pratt with a broken hand. He had a big game again SLE ( I mean thats not saying much) but he looked very good. That is my opionion. What do you think? |

Livonia Stevenson -
Northville + Novi = Salem? + South Lyon? = South Lyon East = I'm not sure how much better Stevenson could be considering how good they were this year. They have no QB to replace Gudeman and their line will not be nearly as strong. They'll still win the division, but they will be beatable. Austin White will single-handedly win several games for them, and the other division coaches will be too prideful to simply focus on shutting him down. Northville should be better with Ladach getting his system in place. They're still not going to be great - a lot of softness still surrounds that team - but they were so close to winning games last year that I think they might get a couple this year. For Novi to stay = means they'll be pretty darn good. No stars, no giant linemen and no real QB. All of that may actually help, though. South Lyon without Baskins means they're going to stuggle. And, East is going to continue their woes, especially since their QB transferred back to Brighton. Coach Pennycuff has got to be pulling his hair out and there just aren't that many tough kids in the program yet. Salem should actually be able to win a couple this year. New coach, big line, but losing their QB and RB will really hurt them. They have a nice looking young QB. They were SO close to beating Novi and Northville last year, and the kids seem to like the new staff's attitude (came from Plymouth). As for Franklin (since you're talking about them here), they will be tough as usual. They have good skill talent and a couple of big guys on the line. A lot will depend on how bad Coleman (lineman) wants to dominate. If he decides he'd like to play college football and wants to dominate, that will make a big difference compared to if he thinks he's just going to be good based on being a giant kid. The Franklin vs. Stevenson game has become a must-see game, which is fun for the entire community. |

With 4 returning starters on the o-line, how can you say that their line will not be nearly as strong as last year. i disagree with you 100% that shs will not
be as good as they were last year. if o'hara can step up and just manage the game, then they will be better than last year.

why is everone giving northville so many kudos? their jv (incoming juniors) lost to other jv teams that alot of you guys are saying will not help out at the
varsity level.
stevenson, this one is tough. they have some kids coming up from jv, but i dont know if it will be enough to get them back to what they were a couple of years ago. the seniors who graduated are a big loss here, and it will be easier for teams to focus more on white this season than it was last. that being said i give them a (+) northville, unless they get a lot of transfers coming in i dont see them really improving. their jv was subpar at best and imo didnt have much on it. (= or -) i dont see them getting better, but i dont see them dropping off a whole lot right now. novi, they had a very good group at the jv level last year. if this group of kids can stay eligible (i heard they had problems with some of their best players last year at jv) novi will be solid again. i will give them a (= or +) salem, can anyone honestly get worse than they were last year? though they did beat a very young south lyon east, i dont see the horses coming up through the program right now that can help. gonna go with (=) south lyon, yes losing baskins hurts, but no one else in that senior class was worth spit. to many I's and not enough team players. they do have a solid group of backs coming up from jv but none will be like baskins. though they will have enough to rotate the carries around and keep teams on their toes. the inexperience at qb will hurt. i will have to give them (= or +) south lyon east, to me losing their qb is a good thing. the kid was a ball hawg and spent to much time yelling at his teammates for dropped balls. he never really impressed me in all the games i saw him in (i saw him play 7 games). granted when you run for your life every down no one looks good. the big thing is the spread offense should be out (the finnerty brothers/family quit and moved to another school), so that will help this very young squad. i would think that they have to improve, but only time will tell (=) |

Novi(+)This all comes down to the QB. Whoever wins the job, be it Hartland, Enright, or Mohr, better step up. The skill positions are talented, the incoming
juniors are big and will provide strong depth in the trenches, and the defense will be spectacular. The stars are aligned for a huge season, and if the QB can
make plays and move the chains this is a team that will be competing deep into November. However, if the QB situation turns into a mess, teams will bogg down
on the running game and force Novi's defense to will games. Novi's defensive depth is untested and injuries to stars like Mims, Jabbori, or Pitcher
could really hurt. I'm a homer though and believe that Hartland will ultimately win the job and lead Novi to a successful season.
Stevenson(=)AW is coming back and that itself means Stevenson won't get any worse. However, they do have to replace their QB and lot's of other positions as well. With Gabel back on the sidelines they will definetly be contenders, but like Novi a QB needs to emerge and be serviceable, hand the ball off to AW, and move the chains on 3rd and long. Northville(+)The class of 2010 is supposedly very, very good, having dominant freshman and JV campaigns and leading Northville to a much improved season last year. I expect Northville to be improved again, but they won't be getting much help from a weak class of 2011. Novi's class of '11 dominated Northville's each of the past two seasons and that will be the difference between the two teams. Should be an interesting 3-team race. South Lyon(-)Baskin was that team, and now he is gone. With the opening of SLE, don't expect SL to become consistently good again, unless a major population boom or something of that sort takes place. South Lyon East(+)Everyone is back on that team, which could be good or bad depending on how one looks at the situation, but the continuitiy should help the young team out. SLE could be better than SL this year, and certainly has the potential to beat Salem. Salem(-)I have never understood how a school with 2000 kids, in the same district as Canton and Plymouth could have such a consistenly poor football program. But that is simply the case, and it's being nice. Parling is gone, and he was like what Baskin was to SL. Not much else to say, other than I've heard some good things about Ed Merhi. |

Jimmy Gurney is in the race too. I still think Hartland wins the job though. Where did u hear that Mohr isn't playing next year? |
