Manistee Catholic Central is 4-0 and has won by a large margin in each of it's game. Whats the school enrollment? Like 56? Anyway I dont know if they are
THAT good or if they play a weak schedule?
What other teams might give Muskegon a challenge in D8? Beal City maybe? Crystal Falls? Throw some names out there.

About MCC and their schedule...
1. Mesick - W 20-0 - Mesick is now 0-4 and plays 0-4 Class B Benzie Central Week 5. 2. Vestaburg* - W 47-0 - Vestaburg is now 3-1 and beat Onekama by 24 points, but hasn't played Sacred Heart or Montabella yet. 3. Big Rapids Crossroads* - W 71-6 - BRCCA is now 0-4 and lost by a running clock in every game so far. 4. Onekama* - W 62-14 - Onekama is now 2-2, but their two wins are over BRCCA and Baldwin, two of the worst teams in the state. 5. at Ashley* (1-3, lone win over CHSL Intersectional bottom-feeder Riverview Gabriel Richard) 6. Brethren* (1-3, lone win over Baldwin) 7. at Coleman* (2-2, beat Ashley and Baldwin but lost to Farwell) 8. Baldwin* (0-4, lost to Tri-Unity Christian - Enough said there) 9. at Forest Area (3-1, only loss to state-ranked Central Lake-Ellsworth and quality win over Gaylord St. Mary) |

Soooo....the other MCC not much of a threat.
What about Deckerville? Lake Linden Hubbel? or Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart? |

Actually Manistee Catholic Central has a lot of experience on their team. They only have, I think 19 kids out, but they have no JV so the kids are all
experienced.
On the flip side Muskegon Catholic has in the mid 30's. It's gonna take a team with some depth, experience, and good coaching to give Musk CC a challenge in the playoff's this year. |

One team that might have a slight shot is Crystal Falls Forest Park. And if they meet, I hope it's at the Ford. Fulton Middleton?
I was noticing a lot of D8 schools have little depth. Of course come playoff time they can move some JV guys up which will help. |

GHSfootball1990 wrote: I would have to agree as well. SHA has that spread offensive down with a very effective QB. SHA is going to make it deep in the playoffs but the problem with them which as plagued them for years is they have a lot of poor quality teams on their schedule. However that week 1, 20 point victory over Beal City, and trouncing of lesser teams 70-0 over Baldwin comes to mind, I do not think SHA are pretenders. But like most everyone else I think Muskegon CC is too good for anyone in D-8, Muskegon CC should not even be in the D-8 playoffs. |

But like most everyone else I think Muskegon CC is too good for anyone in D-8, Muskegon CC should not even be in the D-8 playoffs.Isnt saying that the same as saying EGR shouldnt be in D3, or Macomb Dakota shouldnt be in D1? MCC appears to have an extraordinary team, but the enrollment #'s dont lie. They took a big risk in making this schedule, the risk of missing the playoff's entirely. Frasnkfort might be in the same district as MCC and they just beat Class B Kingsley which is interesting..... We also have the talk of Mendon falling to D8. Problem with that, is that now you might as well hand the wooden mitten to TCSF in D7.

MCC might not give up a point in the playoffs. CFFP or Mendon may score in 4th quater after they are behind 30 to nothing. As for TCSF, they will give up a
couple of points but will score at least 40. At least MCC's JV has a losing record!

Oh, I think Mendon might scare up a few points before the half - probably pull in a few interceptions, too.

That's a pretty bold statement - I would like to believe it, but even this Mendon fan will wait and see - it should be a good game. I did not pay any
attention to MCC this season because we were D7 and expected to stay there.
Apologies to Pittsford - I don't mean to sound as if we are not focused on playing you this Sat. |

treeguy07 wrote:hey, its just straight up confidence. MCC will definatly be a tough game, nobody will have to worry about a running clock, thats for sure. i think that its safe to say that the Mendon vs. MCC game is going to determine the D8 state champion. MCC's up there in playoff points, but also consider that Mendon had 2 teams in their regular scheduel forfit. (no idea how to spell that...), and MCC is a class A school with a class D enrollment, and theres not too many smaller schools up there that are small, so they have bigger and better competition. People are saying that since Mendon was put into the Red Arrow Conference, they have gotten a much easier scheduel, therefore not earning to get how far they have already gotten now. Mendon has been underestimated, in my opinion that is. not by all you guys, its basically word on the street. theyve got great potential. usually they come out strong in the begining of a game then step it up a notch after halftime. this is one of Mendon's better defensive years, theyve had better and also much worse. very strong running game, and this week before the MCC game they are really crankin' it up on the passing game. my prediction is that mendons potential will overtake MCC's intimidating size and reputation. this game will definatly not be a blow out tho... |

Treeguy, Good luck to your Hornets. This is a pretty interesting matchup this weekend. I will say the winner here wins the Final at Ford. Have fun

Thanks Biased - confidence is high, I repeat, confidence is high. I think St. Ignace might surprise CHFP, we'll see.
Do they have computers up in Muskegon? Where's all their supporters? |
