It's tough to truly know without stats who is the most dominant, but I voted for Gainer. While I think his stats are down a little this year, if I was
putting together a defense I think out of that list I'd start with him.
Once again, the rest of the guys are no slouch. Ahlersmeyer was the lone brightspot on defense for the Warriors this year, simply a dominant sideline to sideline LB. Williams, if I'm not mistaken but I heard he had something like 18 tackles against clarenceville this year, that is ridiculous. Berkseth and Beauregard anchor a stellar Northwest D at LB. Running between the tackles on those two is more than a chore. Jones, probably the rawest of all on the list, and while his season was cut short he should get some looks at college ball, I'm going to assume he'll probably hit up a JUCO or something, and look to transfer. Any way you slice it, another stellar list of players in the Metro. And it is easy to see how Northwest has been so good, with some great players on both side of the ball. Followed closely by the Ville. I think the metro could put together a pretty formidable team for drawing from such small school populations for the most part. |

Matt Berkseth deserves defensive MVP all the way
If his stats dont speak for him, watch one of his games. |

Sam Ahlersmeyer has 80 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks, and he has also been 1st team all conference for the past two years.

not to be a homer, but why not cranbrook's stephen peck for defensive mvp? he doesnt do much in the way of turnovers (1 pick, 1 recovered fumble), but he
averages almost 11 tackles per game with 87 on the season thus far. not to shabby for a defensive back, in my opinion.

Berkseth had 15 tackles against a high powered Parkway offense on Friday night. If he is not defensive MVP, than the people who voted otherwise need to check
into Betty Ford for an extended period of time.
