Who should be Offensive MVP for the Metro Conference?
Offensive MVP (Result) |

Definitely Rolf.
While all of the guys listed are easily the offensive juggernauts for their respective teams, Rolf is the lone one who has single handedly dominated the conference this year. There have definitely been some bright stars on the offensive side of the ball in the Metro this year. I'd rank them as follows. 1) Rolf 2) Brooks 3) Hartfield 4) Sherman 5) Shoats Really, any way you dice it up after Rolf is debatable, lord knows that their respective teams would be in a vastly different position without them. |

As a Westland Warrior fan myself, I would ask that you take Shoats off of this list. No offense to this guy, but he is in no way an Offensive MVP. He is the
third guy in Westland's offense behind Kemp and Haller. Haller leads the team with almost 1,000 yards rushing and is now their quarterback who had around
100 yards passing and a touchdown against Prep. If anyone would be considered for offensive MVP on the Warriors, it would be Haller or Kemp. Shoats had a big
year last year with his punt and kick returns, but he hasn't done much this year. Being moved from running back to wing to quarterback to wide out, he
hasn't shown much to considered for this reward.
If it were me voting, I wouldn't choose Matt Rolf. I would choose the guys blocking for him. Those front five were absolute beasts this year. An all senior line that took out any defensive line and linebackers that they met. I'm sure Matt Rolf would be the first one to tell you that he wouldn't have done as well without his great offensive line. The biggest reason that Northwest did so well this year is because of their offensive and defensive line. |

Yes i agree - Haller and Kemp have had more of an impact than Shoats this year and I should of put Haller up there.
I also agree that NW's OL/DL has been pretty tough this season but they do have a lone junior starting as well. - Rolf needs to buy those guys some Isotoner gloves or at least take them to Old Country Buffet |

Agreed about NW's line. As many people like to give Gainer the business about not showing up against NW, I think it had more to do with the frusturation of
having at least two blockers in his face all night, more than him not showing up. I'd like to see anyone run around and make tackle when guys are on you
all night, NW's line has been a nightmare for all LB's in the conference this year.

I don't think it was just the Northwest game that Gainer didn't do well in. He wasn't really a force in the Harper game either. I am pretty sure he
had single digit tackles in that game too.
And I know Northwest normally blocks linebackers with their RB on Iso's runs for Rolf and Northwest's RB #25 is a smaller kid like 5'8 165 and he was handling Gainer most of the game. Sorry I am just not mixed up in the Gainer hype started by Rivals.Com. He is a good athlete but takes plays off and doesn't block well at all on offense. Also the coaches thought of him so highly that they barely gave the ball to him on offense as well. That doesn't say to much for a D1 big ten propect on a smaller team. I agree that LB is not Gainer's best position and he looked a lot better ar free safety last year. That being said I would still take him on my team but play him at Safety. Also, I always enjoyed watching #44 on Northwest, he was flying all over the field on every play and I would rather see it (MVP) go to him.

I wouldn't be suprised if gainer has less than 60 tackles. However, I'm sure hogan and the other linebacker have a ton of tackles. gainer gets doubled
on almost every play and that opens up plays for others. W ithout his ability and the attention he brings, cville would be below average. The professional
recruiting publications jusy bumped him up to 4 stars. He changes blocking schemes and is the only defender in the conference that needs to be accounted for on
every play

I saw that on Rivals that he is up to 4 stars. Good for him.

If Gainer is 4 stars than both Rolf and Berkseth from Northwest should be 3 star players. That Berkseth kid could play special teams for anyone.

My only thing about Gainer is that star players play big in big games > He didn't do much on defense in the northwest game or anyone else for
Clarenceville. Rolf had over 200 yards rushing and 4 TD's.
Gainer also didn't have a big game vs Harper Woods. Where he said "Harper was the teams turnaround game" on Prep Ticket. |

Gainer is a 4 star player now on Rivals and Zurlon Tipton is a 2 star player.
Zurlon has less around him too to work with.

If Matt Rolf isn't the offensive MVP, that is a travesty in the highest degree. 7 total touchdowns and over 470 yards against a Parkway team that would
have been ranked had it not been for the forfeits is the kind of numbers you can't even achieve on video games.

Shoats and Sherman were only MVP's on their respective teams. Niether should garner League Accolades as niether werent a force this season. Sherman was not
bad but then again he played on Cranbrook. Shoats has talent but didnt do anything just like his team. Ahlersmyer is more of an Offensive MVP than shoats,
Ahlersmyer is a LINEMAN!

And speaking of blocking | #15 | ||

Matt Rolf does deserve the MVP, but in addition to the line blocking, Jordan Skinner was a work horse running back quietly racking up impressive yards per
carry and taking out those lofty LB's on Rolf's run's through the holes.!!

Yes I agree that SkinnD kid is a smart player who has come up huge this year. He is undersized but always found a way to block the other teams best defensive
players - even the Defensive MVP. Great Year #25
