Rockford Muskegon attendance |

I wanted to point out that over 13,600 people attended the game at the Ted, setting a new attendance record there. Does anyone know what the record is in
Michigan to watch a single high school football game? I'm sure more people attend the finals but that is a multiple game event.

The Musky/Rockford crowd was outstanding.
Completely surrounded the field, what a great atmosphere for those kids. |

Not related to Muskegon-Rockford, but I went to a game between two Class D schools (Baldwin and Manistee Catholic) and the 50/50 winner got $870.00.

So I think we can officially say that 'Football, as Religion' in W MI, is certainly on some comparable level with Ohio. Regardless of what some
bombastic twits may say.

I remember riding the bus to Cleveland, OH - Lakewood, in 2002, when we played St. Edward and the 50/50 was over $4500. I was TWO numbers away from winning it - the guy who won was standing right next to me when we bought our tickets. This game had a good size crowd - FROM Muskegon! Mehairbowl01 - Go Big Reds! Well, I think Rockford had a few fans there as well -- especially since they were at home.
Both cities are absolutely outstanding in their support for their teams, which is why that was such a great atmosphere. And while I don't ever enjoy being compared to that cesspool that is Ohio, I don't think there are a whole lot of places that put together a better Friday evening than Muskegon v. Rockford, both undefeated in week 8 for the OK Red title. Some of the early district games in D2 involving Lowell, Muskegon, Hudsonville, Caledonia, etc., will have outstanding following I am sure. BG you are probably 100% right about the level of support these places get. |

CC is probably the best around selling the 50/50 tickets. They work it from way before the game all the way though. Just sitting through a game I'll get 10
chances were at a lot of places they will maybe make 1-2 attempts in each section.
Another thing I noticed at CC is that they give you more "chances/tickets' for your money ... which might play a factor in some people's mind. I don't know the exact prices, so I'll just give an example. CC offers a head to toe = ? 100 tickets(chances) for $10 Random offers just 10 tickets (chances) for $10 At CC the buyer of the 50/50 feels like they have a better chance with 100 tickets compared to the 10 tickets someplace else even though the odds are the same.

Was announced at the game that the winner would get over $1,700. That is by far the biggest I have ever heard at one of our games. I won one 7 or 8 years ago
at a homecoming game and it was around $700.
