Not much actually Tommy. I have been doing some searches and found very little. I know of only a handful of facilities getting the turf. GR Christian is
along with the Ann Arbor School is. Outside of those we have a Fenton or Lake Fenton getting it I believe along with Muskegon Oakridge. So it looks like a
slow year for the turf. There is also a school just north of the Kalamazoo/Allegan Border that is looking at getting it. Most of this is in my blog. BTW the
proposal for the Northern Michigan HS Petoskey I think failed so they wont get it either along with Allendale who failed to get theirs passed. Oh yeah I
almost forgot Grand Haven is getting it but thats with a new on location stadium. The Lansing area schools are still without it even though they really do
need it. The few times it was put on the ballot it failed to get passed in the area. I think a few of the schools on the north part of the area didnt even
attempt to place it on the ballot with that school on the west side of Lansing having it fail twice and then decided to stop attempting.
As for East side areas I have not heard much. I know that the NFLPA has not brought up any fields in the area. But I believe one district is going to be putting it in. I just cant seem to recall without looking at the blog. They are starting at one HS and moving to the others later on. Need to find a facility or
find infomation about a facility for High School Football
in the State of Michigan. Come to Michigan High
School Stadium Site
for a visit and to find the info you are looking for.

according to the district website I looked at. Unless the board of ed is lying to the people all 3 schools are getting it. Its just fordson has bigger issues
and as a result will get it first with the other 2 next year or so.

aowwt - a film producer contacted me asking about the perfect field to film a new movie their working on about high school football. You seem to be the most knowledgable person in the universe about high school football stadiums in Michigan, so I would like to refer him to you if you are willing to talk to him. Can you somehow give me your contact information so I can forward it to him? I didn't see a "Contact Us" button on your stadium web-site. |

Aowwt, here are some particulars to South Lyon East High School if you dont have them yet...
Outside the building, workers were installing the bleachers for the football field. It has seating for 1,396 home fans and 548 away fans. Sportexe is being used to surface the football field, while the other three practice fields were seeded in the fall of 2005. The softball and baseball diamonds were seeded in 2005 as well.

I know of a few more stadiums with Field Turf...
Otsego ended up getting theirs this past season, and looks excellent! They need it, especially since their field is practically a swamp. CW Post Field in Battle Creek will be getting Field Turf for the 2008 season. I'll send pics once they start the project. Bring back my show, "The Arena", to Battle Creek, please!!! Call my boss! |

cool, btw please refrain from using 'field turf' unless it comes directly from field turf. I know I am nitpicking and complaining a little but with
around a dozen companies offering 'infill turf' its more of a bias for that one company. I had complaints from companies when I initially had field
turf on the site. In anycase its good to see Post get the turf. Most if not all Shared facilities need to upgrade to infill. Its so much better surface to play
on at the end of the year. BTW if you get out to Post let me know the company that is doing it. Also if anybody knows of any bond proposals this spring let me
know. Having a preset lists saves me the time to search Michigan election office website to find the proposals.

Bloomingdale and Saugatuck passed bond proposals this fall to install infill turf systems. Bloomingdale's is going to be ready for the first game next
year. I am not sure when Saugatucks will be ready.

Wow, that's disappointing ... I guess SL East is not planning on having a competitive football team unless that is the practice field ... Those KVC
kids like to support their teams and that would be horrible..... That home side sounds like a lot of away seating around the area.... and seating for 548 on
the visitor side is just stupid for any school over 100 enrollment!

aowwt wrote: Nah, I'm sticking with Field Turf. That's what the masses know it as ... If I used the term "infill turf" to most people I know they would look at me waiting for an explanation ... like it's something brand new. As far as most are concerned ...
Field Turf = all infill turf Band-aid = all adhesive bandagesJELLO = all Gelatin Kleenex = all tissue I could go on and on ... Saran Wrap, Wite-Out, Zip-Lock and so on In some parts of the country all "pop" or "soda" is simply referred to as COKE That's the way we do things in America ... popular brand names are converted into general nouns ... I'll double check with Coach Slamer, but I believe that they are getting the stuff from Canada for CW Post...
** Correction - According to the recent News & Notes from October from BCPS, it's going to be a Geo-Thermal Field ** Bring back my show, "The Arena", to Battle Creek, please!!! Call my boss!

A Texas high school has the latest in field turf. The Dallas Cowgirls were checking it out to use for their stadium. It is thicker than before, but I
couldn't find a real link besides the little info on the school website.

Well NCAA there is always going to be new and improved turf. You have to remember that this stuff is less than 15 years old. Speaking of new facilities. Well
GVSU is building thier practice facility and just happen to take a peak at Feild Turf Inc and they recieved the contract to install the turf. So thats the
first one for FT in the state of Michigan for next year.

Tack on another Battle Creek school getting field turf (Yes, that's what the school board called it). Harper Creek will be receiving theirs, as soon as
this coming season...

hmm, unless its an unqualified bond which would mean a horrible intrest rate or something it is on the election slate for this May from what I read so far. The
BC Inquery does have thier paper online they just dont tag it with dates. In anycase thats all I will say on this. BTW the State of Michigan reviews every bond
so they also post if it fails or passes. As such I get most of my info from that.

You have to remember that Field Turf is just one company. And get this if somebody calls it Astro Turf they could also be correct as well now. Astro Turf brand
name was bought by General Sports Venue the originators of General Sports Turf. Hence thats why I just like to call it Infilled Turf since it explains what it
is and that way I dont get sued by say Prograss about using FT instead of IT.
