Is it for Pontiac High School sports or something else?

The only little complaint I have about it is that the visitors side could be higher, but it's By far the best in the Mega, and of the stadiums I have actually been to in the metro area, it's in the top 3. Wisner, and Saline (if you consider that the metro area) are the two that I think beat Woodhaven.

Senior Posts: 251 02/29/08 7:37 AM Forum Donor	I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Rockford Football program, as they are a class act. However, for the life of me, I cannot understand why they still have porta-potties and an army tent for visitor concessions? They will not allow the visitors (if in EK gear at least) to use thier 'real' bathrooms on the home side. My 80 plus year old Mom was stopped from walking over on the home side by Rockford security and was told to use the porta-potties on the visitors side. The visitors side seating is as big as postage stamp. I just don't get it, after all these years you would think that the athletic boosters (with whom I have my beef, not Munger and company) and the AD would fix this. Don't give me the argument about money, or lack or resources. That is bull. If they wanted to put up a decent permenant bathroom building with a concession stand in it the athletic boosters could do it in a matter of weeks! I wonder if they are just oblivious? GO EK!

All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 5102 02/29/08 2:08 PM MHSAA Football Stats	The Athletic Boosters shouldn't be in the business of providing bathroom facilities. That is up to the school district and passing a mileage to provide those. If the AB's provided the bathrooms, then why shouldn't they have funded the whole freaking stadium as well? The AB's are there to provide extra's in my opinion, not basic necessities. As far as parking complaints, you should learn tricks to get out of the parking lot quickly. Maple Stadium plus Clarkston's is hard to get out as well, but I learned how to get out of those places real quick. Last Edited By: Mr NCAA 02/29/08 2:10 PM. Edited 1 time.

Sophomore Posts: 36 02/29/08 5:53 PM	I have to say I agree with you. As I stated in my post earlier I love the Ted because I sit on the home side.Visitor side is pathetic. For the life of me I can't really understand why there has not been additional seating and restroom facilities added to the visitor side. Last year they added a wooden building (about the size of a shed) and use it for concessions. When I saw it I couldn't help saying to myself "they have got to be kidding". I am also against the practice of keeping visitors off the home side (although I had that happen to me at EK the first year of the new stadium), especially for older folks. Really makes no sense. There is talk of putting in the field turf (which I hate,although it is better than the old astroturf). I would rather see the mused to improve the visitors side.

All-State Posts: 490 05/04/08 6:22 PM	BCC's stadium looks like a dump though. Parking is the worst in the entire state considering there's a 20 car parking lot across the street and the rest of the parking is either ON the street or in the student parking lot where it's like trying to maneuver through a life-sized game of Operation. The field itself is always in bad shape, the scoreboard is well out of it's time era, the little outhouse-looking shack on the south end looks terrible, and worst of all, numerous players have been injured being thrown into the cement walls along the side of the field...only stadium in the state that could probably get serious consideration for an Arena Football team. Grand Valley State - NATIONAL CHAMPS AGAIN! ('02 '03 '05 '06 baby!)

All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 5291 05/04/08 9:50 PM MHSAA Football Stats	I love it when people complain about parking. I'll repeat what I said earlier a long time ago on here when I attended the Midland vs. Bay City Central game and Alex Mitchell was a senior. I met some nice Midland fans who gave me some of their tailgating food (I had thought that the game started at 7 instead of 7:30). I like up close action so I can hear the big hits so that means that I like BCC's stadium. I got out of the parking lot real quick, but then again I don't usually lag behind when the game ends. When I do stay behind though at stadiums, I wait until almost all the vehicles have left. At Lake Orion it was tough to get out since sometimes they limit you which direction you can get out so I've learned a new parking location there as well so I can get out fairly quickly.

I agree that the home side was much nicer, but the visitor side, where I sat, was better than most places. I also remember walking over to the home side to use the rest room at halftime. Overall, my impression was that Rockford was one of the best high school stadiums that I had ever seen.

In fact, people with CC ties posting in this thread mentioned Wisner as one of the best, but never mentioned CC. It's odd that the school spent all that money on a campus stadium, but fans seem to favor old Wisner. I do agree that the new stadium is rather sterile and has no personality. Parking is terrible as well, particularly if there's a big crowd. Still, the worst part of attending a game at CC is having to endure the P.A. announcer.

The fact that CC actually has their own football stadium is great. But to be honest the actual facility is just "nice". There's nothing that really sets it apart to put on a list such as this. Remove the logos and you couldn't tell it from 100 other newer built stadiums across the state. The parking is bad, but I can deal with the walk. Another issue is the lack of locker rooms close to the field. Players have to spend too much of halftime in their walk to the locker rooms back in the school. I'm just glad CC has a place to call "home".

The sun is blinging, and, well the rest of my comments are listed above in previous posts in this thread. The home side of Rockford is nice. Something new to add to this topic, is that Rockford is asking for a new millage to build more athletic facilities, which if I am not mistaken, includes $$ for field turf. Perhaps ScottRamFan can clarify that for us. One thing for sure, the actual game with Rockford is always terrific. Aside from the visitors side of the venue at the TED, the game itself is always alot of fun. Ralph Munger is a shoe-in hall of famer and his teams are most always at thier best. Can't say enough good about that program. They make great rivals. They represent our conference and our side of the state very well. We need to get our program back on track and really restore the rivalry. GO EK!!
