I'm in Searn. Thanks for getting it rolling.

As March Madness is the only time of year I get caught up mindlessly in anything of the brackets/squares/gambling genre', and because business is so very slow I am depending upon doing well enough this season that my bookie will have to send me a 1099 at the end of the year.

So everyone lookout, I'm playing hard!

Though I am still mathmatically in it, I am letting my emotions get the best of me. For at this juncture, I would gladly trash my chances for the sake of being wrong in predicting Memphis over MSU this coming weekend.

Perhaps we could load the bevy of babes on Biased Guy's private jet and zap down to Houston Firday for the game????

why is it YOU-ston in Texas and HOUSE-ton in NYC????

Sorry Ho, The Bevy of Babes party is full. FTR I will be in keeping company with at least two gorgeous ladies for the Regional Semis and Finals. But I have a quandary. The State game starts on the tube at 957 est, and the KS Nova game is at 940 at Ford. I am trying to decide if we should leave at the half and catch the last 2/3 (hopefully) of the State game at Cheli's or Hockeytown Cafe. (stalker note: I am NOT confirming this plan)

btw Ho. Do you notice any ignoble irony with the standings? Unbelievable. lol

But I do have State beating Memphis. My MW region really bit it. Still I feel really good about my Elite Eight picks

Did anyone in Searn's pool pick the W KY over Drake 12 - 5 upset AND the San Diego over UConn 13 - 4 upset? In the office pool I am running (strictly for match sticks of course) one woman picked both of them, and the Davidson over Gonzaga 10-7 upset. And for her trouble she is dead last in the pool.

There are some kind of neat spins you can put to the pools. For example, in one scenario the woman in my office would receive the points for the upset that correspond with the higher seeded team. So she would have gotten 12 points for W KY beating Drake. I think I will offer a smaller pool like that next year. For the first timers, just the idea of playing the pool was enough so I didn't want to over complicate it.

Chelis or Hockeytown?

My suggestion would be another block south to Detroit Beer Company. Their IPA is one of my favorite pursuits of Hoppyness. Or have you checked out Pappy's on Monroe in Greektown yet?
