Well last week my picks were terrible but hey, its all good.
South Lyon over Novi by 3- This will be a very good game to watch, should be extremely close as well. Milford over Hartland by 10- Maybe Milford can turn things around and finish 5-4, then maybe their season wont look too depressing. Lakeland over Pinckney by 14- Lakeland should have this game no questions asked. (But dont forget about last year where the Pirates held the Eagles scoreless going into halftime). Howell over Brighton by 7- Should be another great game in the KVC. Howell has been rolling ever since the defeat to Novi, so my guess is they'll keep it going. |

Novi over South Lyon--Milford sets 'em up, then Novi knocks 'em down.
Lakeland over Pinckney--Lakeland will squeeze in at 6-3 Brighton over Howell--toss up really, but I think Brighton will spoil Howell's title hopes Milford over Hartland--closer than you might think, but Milford will finish 5-4 and hope Novi goes 8-1...most likely won't make the dance. Milford's season has to be the biggest underachievement in the KVC in a long, long time. The game that is haunting the Mavericks is the Lakeland loss. Milford dominated the statistics, and should have blown Lakeland out in the first half. If the halftime score is 24-0 instead of 14-0, the blocked punt doesn't turn the momentum enough to spark a comeback victory. If Milford wins that game, they probably don't lose to Brighton, but even so, finish 6-3, while the Eagles finish 5-4. Milford is a handful of plays from being 6-0, and a handful of plays from being 1-5. (Novi game was 29-8 in the 4th quarter, so don't let Novi people sell you that was a close game.) ![]() |

Lakeland may creep in at 6-3, but that would be disapointing. Lakeland blew the Novi game, which they should have won. They had their chances against
Howell but couldn't stop the Howell running game when it mattered. Lakeland needs to have a great showing in these next three games to gain some momentum
for the playoffs! And, they could easily lose to Pinckney and Brighton and not get in at 5-4! What a major letdown that would be! That said, Lakeland holds
on in a close one this Friday over Pinckney.

LAKELAND over PINCKNEY by 10- Lakeland is too talented and too well
coached to let the season slip away from them anymore than it has. Pinckney showed some grit against Howell recently and has some playmakers, but I see
Lakeland taking advantage of a opportunity and "starting it up again.

The KVC champion picture is getting clearer. This week, one team (South Lyon or Novi) will lose it grasp on the KVC Championship. Should Brighton knock off Howell, the winner of SL vs Novi will have inside track for at least being a co-champ. If South Lyon and Howell win this week, homecoming in the "Jungle" next week will be for the (stand alone) KVC title. Simply put, If you are South Lyon, Novi or Howell, win the next two weeks and you are gaurenteed at least part of the KVC title. Lakelands over Pinckney by 17 Lakelands dominates in this one. Pinckney will keep teh score reasonable with second half scoring, long after the game is decided. Milford over Hartland by 14 Sloppy execution vs. South Lyon cost Mavs chance of victory last week. Other than that observation, how can that offense not be clobering teams? I don't get it... Sooner or later, somebody will have to pay for Milford's season. Will it be Hartland??? In the end, Milford sidesteps the trap door they are standing on covering the KVC basement. Howell over Brighton by 7 Brighton could be the spoiler this week in the KVC. I still fell they will upset somebody before the season is through. Howell's punishing running game is beginning to wear teams down. This week I'll take Howell (a first) so long as the Highlanders can and avoid turnovers and control the ball, which they are becoming good at. Novi over South Lyon by 16 (GOW) Novi, very good at passing, very good at running and a very good quick defensive unit. The 'Cats coaching game plans have been right on and the team has executed. South Lyon, on the other hand, good (at times) at running the ball, good (at times) at passing and a fomidable defense still needs to find a consistancy. If they do, this team will pose a big problem for EVERY team they face the rest of the season. Novi is simular to Lakelands team. I don't think Lions adjust well to these matchups. Big bad Lion team on the road vs smaller, quick and athletic Wildcat team + homecoming crowd = 'Cats scratch, Lions snooze, see you in the playoffs. Enjoy thse KVC matchups while you still can... |

ColonelKVC wrote: True, the score was lopsided in early in the 4th (actually 29-7), but Novi still could have won that game (lost 29-21). Do you think Milford would beat
them today? Maybe, maybe not.

week 7 here we come,
lakeland over pinckney by 14-could be close early on like last year but don't look here for an upset south lyon over novi by 1- people watching this one are in for a treat. milford over hartland by 3- despite the squads inability to shake off the lakeland game milford should win this one, but who knows those mavericks arent exactly playing inspired football as they have in the past. Howell over Brighton by 3. Howell lost this game last year, but this year the game is home, and off their most gratifying win of the season look for Howell to stay poised and take care of Brighton on their way to a playoff bid. |
