My understanding was similar to FBR2's, St. Joe lost a bit more than Lakeshore. However, Lakeshore lost their outstanding QB and their very good RB, so I have to think their offensive output will be down, regardless of their 7 on 7 performance.

I tend to lean towards Mr. NCAA's position, the 7 on 7's can be fun to watch, but I've seen a lot of really good regular season teams play poorly at 7 on 7's, and vice versa. Mr. NCAA correctly points out the best example...

Is inkster in division 3? i know they were in the state finals last year for d3, but i also know there enrollment went up a lot from last year, so they maybe d2. I know they wouldn't be a dark horse in either divison, but if they are in division 3, i'd say they would compete with egr for the title again

Mr. NCAA, that is false about Lakeshore losing more than St. Joe to my knowledge. Lakeshore returned one starter last year and had an undefeated jv team moving up into the varsity ranks. They were young and similar to what St. Joe was in 07. St. Joe on the other hand graduate most of it's starting team this past year.

Lakeshore seems to be solid every year, thats a good pick, if thats how it pans out. But Look for Chelsea to make that jump, I have a feeling its there year, and this is coming from an Adrian fan!!

Stevensville-Lakeshore played against Mason, Wayland Union, Brother Rice and L'Anse Creuse.

I only saw them against Brother Rice. They looked very good. It was BBR's toughest game, and they played a much tougher schedule than Lakeshore.

Did prepseer have Southfield that highly rated in their division when they went 58 - 0 or some such outrageous number after those 7 on 7 camps ended a few years ago? To hear it on mdead they were state champs before the season even began and had a losing real season to boot. Basically I put zero stock in the 7 on 7's. Even the scrimmages can be misleading unless you compare year over year results with the same coaches so how much more so for the 7 on 7's?

Based on their performance at the Michigan State 7 on 7, I'm moving Stevensville-Lakeshore high up on my Div. 3 contenders. We might be looking at a EGR vs Stevensville-Lakeshore semi-final.

While East Lansing has a very good coaching staff, they lost a lot of talent from last year. They do have a young speedster, but without outside help I don't believe they have the horses to match last years team. You may have them ranked a little too high.

Basically it is 50/50 on whether Detroit Crockett ends up in D3 or D4. Detroit Crockett is team #234 right now assuming the co - op programs turn out like I have them. Here's the historical last team in D3 list with 2008 being on top. Sorry but I had to switch to bbcode to post today.

Y ou are exactly right, If the OL can band together, they will be there, the defense will need to step up, as the QB, Nick Hill wont be able to do it alone!!

Prepseer, I forgot, Adrian will more then likely will be in the same district, with either Airport, or some other team from the Downriver league like AP, or Carlson, depending on if they make it or not, but look for Adrian vs Chelsea in the district final again like in 07

Let me set the record straight since some teams mentioned in this thread definitely won't be in D3 since they are outside the historical range so far on updated my average division division spreadsheet.

FHH = D2
Marine City = D4
Mount Clemens Clintondale = D4
Goodrich = D4

I would go without any info:
1. EGR
2. OLSM
3. East Lansing
4. Chelsea
5. Adrian
6. Dewitt
7. St. Joseph
8. Stevensville Lakeshore

Dewitt will return most of their starters from last year. They scrimmage East Grand Rapids. While they never show much, it should be a good indicator.

We all know EGR, OLSM, will be favorites to win D3, But what other schools could make some noise come playoff time and challenge these powerhouse schools. I will name 5. 1.Chelsea 2.Dewitt 3.Adrian 4.St. Joes. 5.Lahser. others maybe to consider are Airport, East Lansing, Warren Fitzgerald, and Haslett. Any other schools I might be forgetting, let me know. Thanks. Cant wait until the season starts!!!!
