Finally official ...

The Palm Pre will be available June 6 ... at $199.99 if you are eligible for all possible rebates and with a 2 year contract. (not sure what the retail price is, probably $550?)

Ok ...

So any Sprint Store, Radio Shack, Best Buy, Walmart people here than can hook me up? LOL

Not looking for a free phone or anything ... just looking to make sure I can get the phone without standing in line somewhere for hours....

I was also looking briefly at the Treo Pro the other day .... while it's pretty good ..

It just doesn't stack up these days against the iPhone and potentially the Pre.

Nice topic Searn, encouraged and reminded me to take advantage of the free upgrade that Sprint offered me a while back. Not the caliber of phone you are looking to purchase but you can't beat a $300 phone for free.

My brother has a Treo and it is the biggest POS phone I've ever seen. If I call him, there's a 50% chance that the call will go through. It's not the network he's on, it's the phone. It picks up, but there is silence on both ends. You have to hang up and call him back. Very frustrating, and the reason I completely disregarded Palm products when I bought my phone.

Yep .... Apple does what they can to make the music part inconvenient (in my opinion).....

I bet there's a round-about way to get all your Rhapsody music onto your iTunes/iPhone ... it's just not as easy as dealing with other music programs that seem functional across the board.

One thing to keep in mind if you're going to buy the iPhone, Searn, is that there is an app which claims to provide unlimited texting for a one time charge of $5.99. I haven't downloaded it yet, so cannot tell you how it works but if it does what it says, I certainly would not pay for the unlimited texting plan. I think if someone texts directly to your number, it is still on your iPhone plan, even with the app, but if you initiate the text, using the app, and the person replies to...

I'm now tied into Verizon so, no Pre for me for 6-12 months. How many apps do you really use?? and is it worth the loss of the keyboard? Searn, I've had the iPhone for about a week and I love it. I switched from sprint, also. EDIT: I haven't tried using in the cold yet but don't doubt that claim...I tried using a stylus and it doesn't register, so it probably is heat activated not touch activated.

I almost got the samsung Delve and got sucked in by the touch screen but in the end the Delve looked flimsy and had a touch screen keyboard and I am hard on phones and the Moto q just looked like it could stand up better. I agree with you that on the Apple all the applications make it interesting. Be careful with Palm touch screen stuff, I thought I read something awhile...

The WebOS system looks impressive on the PRE .... This one looks like it could match up with the iPhone ... the only question I think is whether the PRE can keep up with all the Apps on the iPhone which I recently read was over 25,000 now ...

Right now I'm on the Sprint network ... but I THINK my contract with this is either up or close to it ...

My last two phones have been the Treo 650 and the Centro ... both by Palm...

I was playing around with an Iphone the other day and it's tempting to say the least .... but I would have to switch to AT&T

As of now I'm leaning towards waiting for the release of the Palm Pre on sprint ... from what I've read it's a little bit smaller...
