more updates:

Rapid River has filled it's week 4 open date by playing AuGres-Sims at St. Ignace on Friday Sept. 18th.

Interesting that Rapid River passed up a chance to host Stephenson in week 4. Word has it the R.R. coaches did not think they could compete with Stephenson even though (via their co-op) they have a bigger enrollment than Stephenson.

Also, www.highschoolsports.net has Muskegon Catholic Central playing host to a school called Westside...

Per the Ironwood Daily Globe, Ewen-Trout Creek (0-2) has filled it's week 3 open date by agreeing to play (and host) Winter (WI) (0-2) on Friday Sept. 11th: Per the WIAA, Winter's enrollment is 105, which his slightly larger than E-T.C.

Both schools have had huge problems in the first 2 weeks. E.-T.C. has lost 64-6 and 54-0 in it's 2 games. Winter has lost 66-0 and 48-0 in it's 2 games.

Should be a good same then. Kudos to both schools for getting together...

Muskegon Catholic Central could play Grandville Calvin Christian in week 8. Calvin was left high and dry when Tri-Unity Christian cancelled their football season.

some updates to add from MHSAA games wanted link:

Looks like the Muskegon Catholic Central/Melvindale ABT game is off again, perhaps for good. MHSAA lists that as of 08-28-09, M.C.C. is in need of a game for week 8. Also, highschoolsports.net concurs with the open date for MCC.

Also, Melvindale ABT is listed as playing Chicago International Charter School in week 3, NOT Orchard Lake St. Mary. MHSAA master schedules no longer have St. Mary hosing ABT on Sept. 12th.

with the problems created by Wyoming Tri-unity Christian cancelling it's season and Burr Oak holding it's opponents hostage this season, there are some schedule changes for teams:

Week 4: Bellevue (was scheduled to play at Burr Oak) will now play at Big Rapids Crossroads Academy (was scheduled to host Tri-unity Christian)

Week 6: St. Joseph Michigan Lutheran (which had an open date) will now play at Battle Creek St. Philip (was scheduled to play...

Per the Illinois HSA site today, Chicago Harper is no longer scheduled to play Detroit Osborn in week 1 (at Wayne State U)

They have Harper playing another Chicago school. Osborn is now listed on the master list with an open date.

Per hhs.net, Wyoming Lee has filled it's week 7 open date by adding Edwardsburg.

This game is confirmed for both teams' schedules on hhs.net.

Earlier, hhs.net had Edwardsburg hosting Chicago University of Chicago Charter School/Woodlawn (UCCS/Woodlawn).

Also, on hhs.net for Grand Rapds NorthPointe Christian, it shows the Mustangs hosting North Adams-Jerome in week 5 on Sat. Sept. 26.

Only thing is, North Adams-Jerome is scheduled to be...

Per www.highschoolsports.net, Kent City will be hosting Webberville in week 2. Kent City had an opening after Wyoming Tri-unity Christian cancelled it's 2009 season. BUT, Webberville had a game at Redford Covenant scheduled for week 2 already. What happened to that game?...was there no contract signed?...OR, will R.C. be playing only a JV schedule this year. Per hss.net, Web and RC still have a JV game scheduled for week 2.

Per hhs.net, Dryden will play at Hale in week 7, Oct....

Kinde North Huron cancelled the game against Melvindale ABT. This means that I favor Mio playing Ishpeming Westwood at St. Iggy.

In week 2, why can't Rogers City play Kent City? That seems very reasonable to me. There are more examples where teams don't have to take the forfeit as well such as Atlanta vs. Baraga in week 9.

Included now are the schools with open dates since both Posen and Wyoming Tri-unity Christian have cancelled their 2009 seasons.

There are some games that can be paired up, but it's my guess that most schools will weasel out of trying to get that 9th game, and will take the easy way out and receive a forfeit win.

Per Kinde-North Huron school website, which was just recently updated, their 2009 football schedule shows they are no longer scheduled to play Melvindale A.B.T. in week 6.

These leaves both teams with an open date for week 6.

Also, the football schedule lists that North Huron is playing Kingston in week 3, AND also in week 7. The week 3 game fills an open date for both schools.

Midland Dow could have found a good team in-state. According to most sources, Detroit Southwestern has an open date Week 4 as well.

Also, per highschoolsports.net, Midland Dow has found an opponent for it's week 4 open date: Bradley-Bourbonnais (IL). B-B played against Hudsonville last year.

B-B is located south of Chicago near Kankakee. The Boilermakers have a 2009 enrollment of 2118, making it a Class A school if it was in Michigan. The game is schedule for Midland Community Stadium on Sat. Sept 19th.

For lack of a better place to post this, here is a schedule for 8man for Flint Michigan School for the Deaf. This is the first time they have sponsored football since the mid 80's.

To view 2009 open dates, go to the link below. Not all schedules posted on MHSAA are complete yet, especially Detroit PSL. Of course, many of these open dates have already been filled, it's just that the schools have not updated their schedules on www.highschoolsports.net yet. Out of State schools will be added as soon as possible.
