You captured exactly what I had thought to be the main issue:  the safety of the kids.  As pointed out by the Colonel in the Dr. Andrews interview, fatigue
leads to injuries in many cases.  Alas, in OT situations fatigue also leads to mistakes that end the game, but it did not happen in this case. ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ The MHSAA officials first alerted each teams AD of their concerns. From my understanding both AD&#39;s thought the concerns were legit and ADs and MHSAA
officials then met with coaches between OT periods to get their take. Though I am sure some invovled felt it was unfortunate circumstances, no one thought it
was a bad call....it was just the one they had to make.

It is important to note that the discussion by officials at the time was framed by the rules in place.

There was no rule that allowed for an abitrary solution such as a shootout or change in on ice manpower.

defending state champs Rochester and now half of the mlive board is saying the competition was rigged, the judges were paid off, Rochester did way better, they
should go back and watch the video and rescore the competition, Grandville&#39;s championship was a gift, the competition should be moved away from West

Still think there were a number a ways to have changed the outcome, while keeping the health of the players paramount: Suspend the completion of the game till
the next day. Find agreement between the officials and two programs for an outcome - MHSAA would have to empower the refs to come up with a solution. But that
is what it boils down to...the MHSAA.

<p>Trenton has a GREAT high school hockey program, 2nd to none.  But ... after playing in D1/Class A by choice and making long tournament runs and winning

			<description><![CDATA[ Interesting situation, I&#39;m not sure how it should have been handled, but the MHSAA dropped the ball on this one for sure.

There has got to be a letdown for these kids who went all out for over 4 hours with no result and a cochampionship.

During my sports career I tied one game. It was the biggest football game of the year for 5th and 6th graders, what were supposed to be the two best teams ---

			<description><![CDATA[ I totally agree with stopping the game after 8 overtimes.  It is not worth risking the lives and limbs of these young men just to reach a conclusive result.
