I too was at the game on Friday night as promised. I was also shocked at how lopsided each half was. Milford dominated the first half. Please notice that I did not say "Lakeland gave the half to Milford". It just didnt happen that way. Nor in the second half, did Milford give Lakeland anything. Milford was outplayed in the second half. Both teams were given more than ample opportunities to win. Forget about the referees and thier "lousy" calls.Forget about blown...

It wasn't so much the the tossing the helmet thing that bothered me, but the fact he had to be restrained from going after the refs, and then threw another fit behind the bench, pounding his chest and screaming. All players read, sign, and turn in a player code of conduct prior to the season.
In it is spelled out in black and white what is expected of the players. This should be the only warning they get. This "heat of the moment" crap is nothing but a cop out.

Don't judge the character of the entire team on the actions of 1 cocky, immature player. He should not be a team captain. That honor should have gone to a deserving senior.

Well said, Colonel, there are those of us in the Lakeland stands that believe behavior like that should be dealt with by the coaching staff or a.d. with a minimum 1 game suspension. Let alone the fact that the game was being taped for television. Nice sportsmanship!

Yea, looks like they've scheduled Pinckney for week #9 (who happens to be their week #8 opponent also.

Personally, I think if that game is not scheduled prior to the season, then they SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ADD IT! Period!

You can't sit around waiting to see how your season will go then determine whether an 8 game or 9 game...

oh and milford scored their first touchdown on a blown coverage, when wizz78 said lakeland had control over everything they thought they had he was right their running game which is usually pretty good was shut down.
end of story lakeland 4-0 milford 2-2

I figured you would have knew I was talking about the second half Coach, seeing as everyone in the stadium knew Lakeland was getting worked in the first half. Next time I'll make it easier of a read for you. as far as the QB being a complete i believe you said "@!#++++" hello he had to seeing as it was 4th down and and I don't know if you know some of the rules of football but you only get 4 downs and if he would have taken a knee it would have been turnover on downs MIlford...

the two point conversion was good.
wach any game film and youll see the ball knocked the pylon over.
signaling the ball crossed the line.
should he have reacted that way? no.
but as cracked head said we had holding from milford lineman clips from milford backs on punt returns and punching and kicking away from the pile. not in the pile away from it.
i used to see coachkvc as a neutral. not anymore.

Everybody is a "Homer or Home Boy", as it should be. As for CoachKVC (colonel), over the year Fox's kids have shown some arrogence (lineman spitting on Lakeland players at South Lyon when they just came to observe the game, Fox himself calling out Brian H, Lakelands last coach after a JV win because he felt a botched extra point that ended up as a 2 point conversion was pilling on so he stated "Brian no mercey tomorrow for that sh--").

Colonel - I have never seen such sour grapes from you before. Normally you are pretty objective and honest to both sides (even with your inside affiliation to Milford). Nonetheless, it was a great football game. Should the lakeland qb been flagged on the play you describe? - absolutely! By the way, on the failed 2-pt conversion, Heiman thought he made it, immediately ripped off his helmet, and slammed it on the ground. His chinstrap went flying, his helmet bounced 15 yards up the sideline, and he continued to yell at the refs for another 30-60 seconds. All of this happened right...

I agree that Milford deserved to lose the game. They made too many mistakes. Lakeland deserves to get the W, but they didn't win it, Milford lost it. My post was in response to this absolutely false account of the game:

"(I)t was a close game, but not until Lakeland decided to show up. Their defense controlled every move Milford made and their offense tore it up through the ground and air."

Those statements are a complete falsehood and do not tell the story...

Somewhere in the posts I wrote that this would be a "Cliche" game. The team that had the fewest mistakes, or at least capitalized on opponents mistakes, would win. As always, statistics have a way of showing what could have or should have been (Lakeland did have one more first down than Milford I read), but the bottom line is under the Team names on the score board at the end.
Playing the short field, gain less yards. Not punching the ball in in the red zone, leave points on...
