Any insiders or others in the know that can give us DLS Alumni a taste of what next year might bring?? Always appreciated.

CC next year

Was just wondering what to expect next year. Who are the players from the JV or froshmen team competing for a starting spot. It looks like CC has a nice core of players returning, capable of making a long playoff run if they stay focused and hungry.

best conference in the state again. olsm showed a lot of improvement throughout the year (from what im told and what ive observed). cc was as good as advertised. rice and dls had good playoff runs, running into very good teams. its hard to say what the final rankings would be for these 4. quite frankly, id say it would be CC the clearcut number one, with a 3 way tie. but i gotta give the nod to olsm above the other 2, just because they beat them in the regular season. id go in this order: CC,...

Would you please list where you think Capatina and Palazeti rank in terms of all time CC running back tandems? I'm guessing top three, but my historical perspective does not reach back as far as many of yours. There was Kava and Rogowski. Maybe Brooks and Banaczak (spelling)

It's be REALLY cool if you could build a case for your picks, and if you had some stats.

This looks to be CC's toughest test to date. The Titans have been at #1 in many polls all year.

Everyone on this forum knows the game represents a clash of over the top offense vs an extremely tough CC defense. Which will prevail? I think it is fair to say, that while CC has played against some legit QBs in Popp, the kid from DDC, Beachnau from Holt et al, they have not seen a team that heaves the ball 50 plus times a game.

4 and 13 are the primary WRs. Rumor on Mlive...

First off congrats to the teams still alive, you've done us all proud. This is where the CHSL teams have been judged in the past, glad to see a return from those still going.

DCC v. Stevenson.....I've felt pretty good about DCC winning it all since about week 8. I will not bail on them now. But I expect a battle till the end. DCC by 10.

OLSM v. EGR....I think this is where OLSM falls, I will be completely honest when I say, I did not pick the Eaglets...

Should be 2 good games in D1 and D3....... can OLSM finally beat EGR?..... what a contrast in styles in the CC/SHS game and how ironic that's it's Coach Fracassa's grandson leading the way for SHS

Both CC and SHS had tough games that almost ended their seasons...... they are both battle tested and both are veteran teams led by Seniors.. should be a whale of a game... the 1 thing that sticks out to me is that JF is a big time winner.. he's a 4 year starter that's...

Can't believe that DLS/Inkster score. Defense? Inkster? Only 12 points? Inkster? Wow and wow.

BBR just ran into a very good Lowell team it seems.

CC wins in vintage fashion. No real surprise I guess. Been doing this all year, except the Canton game.

OLSM just rolled Dewitt. Figured OLSM would win, but to put up 44 is just having your salty way with them. Geez.

Does the CHSL Central get any of those wooden mitten trophies next week? What say you?...

Holt - putting the pieces together

Here are some links on the most recent Holt games. From reading the articles it looks like Holt has a balanced run/pass attack, and a gambler for a coach. btw this is not the same coach CC faced in the Regionals in 2007. If memory serves that coach moved onto small college coaching where is son is playing (also played for Dad at Holt) But I will be darned if I can remember who/what/where.

Anyway it sounds like Holt will be more conventional than Canton was. Based upon who they beat,...

I said last week, the men would be seperated from the boys. Very impressive showing for the Central division. Shutting up some of the critics. *cough*

Anyway here we are.

DCC v. Holt. This is a solid Holt football team. Thier rematch vs. Rockford, shows just how much they've grown, and how dangerous they can be. This should be a solid game, that could go either way. But in the end, I feel the DCC defense wins this game with a big 4 quarter stand. DCC by 1...

wow, never thought that CC would have as much trouble as they did... wasn't at the game- need details... sounds like Canton must have run the ball very well- kudo's to them

Looks like BR and DLS cruised while OLSM had a defensive slug fest

4 teams still alive..... validates the strength of the 4 teams this season... as I've said- the state playoffs IMO are the only way to judge strength of league

Solid work for the CHSL last week, as expected. This is a big week in regards to respect, and we will seperate the men from the boys.

Canton is a team I can't figure out. They play it was has been proven to be a very poor KLAA (although they are in the best division), but they destroyed Pioneer last week. I think because I can't make them out, that must favor DCC. Also Canton's coach is probably making excuses all week at practice already like he normally does....

The Chiefs have a VERY nice website. (CC are you taking notice?)

If you go to the links section of the site you will be able to read press articles about this year's team, and going back a number of years as well. Draw your own conclusions. Personally I don't see a lopsided score as some are predicting. But I am hoping that CC's line play will wear down Canton in the second half.

Someone was reporting on mlive that Canton has more in their BF than CC. I...

Include more of the same the way I see it.

The teams that were suppose to win did, and the ones on the line stepped up thier game. All in all Week 1 was a solid showing for the league, hopefully the trend continues. Looking at most week 2 matchups, I believe it will.

DCC, Easily won, and should win a more competitive game, that still is never really in doubt. DCC is a very good team this year like many of us predicted

look pretty solid to make long runs.... I think that BBR has the toughest challenge next week with their playoff rival- Rochester Adams...... even though Melvindale is undefeated and has some tremendous athletes- DC handled them between the tackles- it was their "bounce" factor and "broken" plays that beat them defensively- perimieter stuff- plays that I believe OLSM will handle because they have the same speed that Melvindale has... I think that Stevenson will struggle to...
