Marysville

Marysville tore down its old concrete stadium and is in the process of putting up a new home for the Vikings. Field-turf is being installed, and I hear the facility is looking pretty impressive. Hopefully the team they put on that field will look a little more impressive than the 0-9 squad of 2007.

Atwood Stadium

It appears that a large group of donors including MSU has been helping renovations of this historic stadium. From the article I read it looks like new Infill Turf could be in place shortly. YIPPEE one down two more to get rid of.

I had some extra time one day so I formed a mini list of shared stadiums. I found some more just now on aowwt's stadium website. If you know of more, please list them.

Shared Stadiums = 13 stadiums involving 30 schools
Midland Community Stadium = Midland + Midland Dow

Martin Luther King's FIELD?

Can someone please tell me where MLK's field is? I'm planning on going to the game against Dearborn Saturday and I'm not sure where the field is. I believe the school is on Lafayette on the east side. Any help would be appreciated. Do they have field turf and how large are the stands if anyone knows? Thanks a lot!

After reports of the away side being about the same as the hope I decided to look up Everett ... looks like solid seating on both sides + no track around the field ... looks like a great place to watch a game.

Woodhavens football field

Woodhaven has a great field. The only thing i can see wrong with it is the endzones are not done with school name because it is used for soccer and football. That probably is ok for that school because the football program there is not that great but soccer is big at that school. I have been to a couple of games ther great home stands and away stands. You should definatly check it out on google earth it is really clear area and is just recenlty updated tell me what you think!!!!

If you have a young boy who wants to play football at the next level, put him in kicking camps and develop his talent! There seems to be a shortage of real good kickers at all levels. With the huge growth of soccer in Michigan, you would think there would be more really good kickers than there are. I realize that the soccer season runs at simutaniously with football, but seems like one of those guys would defect! I understaind some soccer purest llo down thier noses to American football. But...

My Summer Stadium Tour

Well I finally felt I had enough of the site up to say yes I can go on my stadium tour. I hit a few Wyoming and Border schools today. I will post some of the pics and stuff at a later time but needless to say I have nice pic of EK now and Jenison is looking nice.

BTW I am compiling a list of schools who are on my locked gates list. Basically any time a public school locks its gates to its public facilities it goes...

From what I saw at your site you just need the Name, Surface, and capacity. I don't know the formula you use to determine the capacity, but I think it would be the length by the number of rows.

I am doing my seasonal search of the web about turf companies that came into Michigan and laid down a field and didnt tell anybody about it.

I found out that Lansing Public Schools in 2003 decided to put a bond. The Bond was split with Part 1 passing. Part 2 included some atheletic renovations that included placing infill turf on 3 of the districts fields. Well Part 2 of course failed. Stupid people. In anycase...

Checked out the field at Saline today. Wow... very nice facility. Much much nicer than the new field over at Detroit Catholic Central (Novi).

I need to make a trip up to Macomb Dakota some time. I hear that's awesome!

Define Stadium

Define stadium.

New fields like Detroit Catholic Central call theirs a stadium. I see a gorgeous new 'Gurf' field, huge stands, great facilities....fine. But I see no 'stadium.'

Birmingham Seaholm however has a submerged (sorta) field, with concrete retaining wall. THAT strikes me as a stadium.

Any thoughts?

Anything definitive?
